i have a 2007 A4 avant 1.9tdi s line
Apparently it’s a PD engine whatever that means
It’s at 156,000 miles just had full service no issues at all drives well for age And mileage lovely car

Want a little more punch and a friend mentioned tuning boxes for tdi engines
Found a box on tdi tuning website £250 for my engine type says can boost bhp by about 35bhp and increase torque as well as better fuel economy

Has anyone used one these boxes that has any advice and would it be an issue with my cars mileage to put one of the boxes on my car

I don’t want to destroy my car basically

Personally I wouldn’t bother. Most just trick the ECU.

Go for a remap if you want more power mate.

I don’t dig Tuning Boxes either.

I had one on my ‘00 B5 A4 2.5 V6 TDI Quattro (it came with the car) and whilst it worked, and made for a reasonably brisk car, it also produced a lot of soot.

It’s a cheap, but crude way to increase power. It intercepts signals between the ECU and diesel pump, modifying the signals AFTER they have left the ECU. So the ECU has no idea what the pump is seeing, so can’t monitor these parameters.

Not good!

Don't bother.I tried 2 on my 2.5tdi and maybe made a slight difference but both failed causing loss of power on the move

Agree with above comments - very cheap and nasty, they only 'trick' the ECU.

A decent remap may cost a bit more, but usually give a fair few more horses, quite a few more lbs/ft (torque) AND give quite a few more mpg's.
