SD Card max size ?

I've read that people have used larger capacity SD cards ie SDXC class 10 upto 128gb but limited by number of files on the card.

Could well be possible. If you read the manual you will see the file limitations:
"USB mass storage device and memory cards: max. 10000 files per medium,max. 10000 files per playlist/directory"
If it's anything like the 8p model , it only allows certain amount off files as said so will only read that amount even if you could get 30,000 on your card , so best to play safe and just use the 64GB
Just put them in different directories as this post states:
"10000 files perplaylist/directory"
In fact when I had my 2013 A3 the manual stated 2tb sd cards, despite them not being out then...

I use 2 128gb in mine, works fine. I have both audio and video files on them.
128gb? good to know as apposed to the manual saying upto 64gb, so it was worth asking on here then !
What file type video files can you use? didn't know you could play video files too

None if you have the standard MMI (low Rez screen / black buttons):
If you have the MMI plus / Technology pack then (hi Rez screen / silver buttons):

The search button will really assist with gaining the information you are seeking very quickly as all the questions you are asking, as you don't have manuals and cannot be bothered to download those I have linked after doing a fast google for you, have been covered in great detail over the years and making threads like this just clutter the forum. Enjoy your new vehicle and before you ask the round thing in front of you is used to change the vehicles direction.

Yes no one is forcing me to answer any questions but I am. I took time to find resources, digital manuals, for you to download and reference in order to learn about your vehicle and its features as you stated you did not have one. You are welcome, and lazy.

Everyone on here is friendly and helpful but when someone goes out of their way to provide you with the download links, you do need to try and do some of the work as well.

MY17 User guide:
Reality is that many devices will support larger cards, example being the Thinkware F770 Dashcam which states 64GB Max but I ran a 128GB with no issues until I moved to the F800 Pro.
