That means the S6 is marginally more powerful than the 55 TFSi, makes it a bit pointless really.

Disappointing. Maybe we will end up with a choice eventually, like the SQ5.

Surely you would have thought. But did think they were replacing the current petrol SQ5 with TDI only

I was under the impression that the SQ5 would be available in both flavours. The old one was, too, just not here...

You can’t order a SQ5 at the moment, like the other S cars, so wonder whether they will stick with petrol. Makes no sense if they aren’t doing so for S4/5/6/7

Pointless. S and RS are supposed to be fun. Not economic who cares if it does 10mpg. Smiles per gallon.
Stupidest decision ever Audi!

From reading the reviews they have done an SQ7 with the exhaust note which is great and although its fake it at least sounds meaty. But those total fake pipes....no no no. Most people wont even notice or be bothered by it though just us lot!

Agreed. I didnt buy an S5 because I wanted economy but the economy aspect might attract people that otherwise wouldnt have one. Somehow a diesel S6/S7 works in my mind alot better than a diesel S4/S5,

If I had the money I'd sooner have a 55TFSI

After fake vents and now fake exhausts, wait for the fake engine. Will look like a engine and sound like one but will be batteries

Did they remove them because it would just make the back of the car all black with the coal its burning?

It looks like hydraulic suspension is no longer standard and is now an option. Adaptive dampers are now the standard setup....

Incorrect - Europe is TDi only
That means the S6 [TDi??] is marginally more powerful than the 55 TFSi, makes it a bit pointless really.
Incorrect - '55' etc. numbering engines not available in 'S' or 'RS' - see below.

The Audi media releases clearly states, for the:-
* S4/5/6/7 & SQ5 - the diesel version is the only engine for European market.
* The S6/7 petrol version (2.9 V6 tt petrol RS4/5 engine but now with mild-hybrid), is for Rest of the World (not just the US).
* The S4/5 & SQ5 petrol version, retains the current 3.0 V6 single turbo, without mild-hybrid & is for Rest of the World (not just the US).

Individual markets in Rest of the World can negotiate with Audi AG to take either engine, or both. eg. Aust. considering TDi engine only in S6.

If you go to 4.00 mins on the Autogefühl Youtube video, Thomas not only shows the underneath, but gives Audi's explanation why 'the fakes', and no, he doesn't buy it either.
Also later on confirms the TDi is all about EU Co2 emissions.

Audi is an auto manufacturer, who will only build vehicles they want to, not what the customer wants, and will screw anyone else at any time, including their national distributors and dealers.

I'm correctly comparing the power output of the A6 55TFSI versus the S6 TDI.
In that, agree, but your post did not state A6, hence my post.
More lunacy in that in Europe it appears one can not buy a 3.0 V6 petrol in a S4, yet one can buy ostensibly the same engine in the A6. Because of Audi's pathetic definition of mild-hybrid, unless I mis-understand, mild-hybrid should not make enough difference with respect to EU regulation. Perhaps as the tighter EU regulations become closer the 55TFSi may not be an option.

If I mis-read, apologises.

Incorrectly correct... I agree with DaveW was pretty obvious the 55 was related to the A model.

WOW!!!...is the word you want to say is 'vile', or another word. Then do not speak with forked tongue.
...of course, you could stop thinking about yourself, remove your blinkers and have some consideration for other forum members, be they UKites or not, as this forum has substantial international readership. You seriously can not be naive enough to believe that every person that has read or contributed to this thread is conversant with the situation. If only one person has improved their understanding from my original post, I am happy.
It takes one to know one and for that my sincere condolences.

Simply 1980's Japanese awful. Might not be chronologically accurate but the nearest statement of disgust I could find...

OMG that is tragic. S4/S6 in the UK will be almost pointless. Better off with a high-end TSFI S-line model!!

Those 'exhausts' - SADNESS.

In most Audis with twin tailpipes one is blanked off, so two out of four is the same thing.

Strange you say that as mine aren't, neither was my A3 or S models, so which Audi's are you referring too?
