RS3 Order Book now open

Have ordered my car today with Bristol, sales guy seem pretty confident it should be delivered. Finance accepted, deposit paid, just wait for it to arrive now. Asked about the A3/S3 being pulled, he seems to think they getting ready for the new A3/S3 at the end of the year. The only bit of information they had is it would be touchscreen like the Q3. He said the RS3 is probably 18 months after the new A3/S3, so about 3 years from now with any luck. Basically no point putting a car that is 3 years away

Nice one @Jermaine , hopefully this all works out. sorry about the Cheltenham Audi bloke, who knows where he has disappeared to, his loss.

No worries man he actually called just after I left Bristol. But I just explained I couldn’t get hold of him and didn’t want to miss out. He had put me through the finance as well. All in all I lost out on another £700 of deposit as Bristol could not match it fully. But one of my friends in the car group chat just put me in contact with a broker that thinks he can beat it by at least £25 a month. Let’s see what happens

ha ha ... nah i'm quite content with my car and not funding Audi Finance anymore :icon thumright:
The RS3 sportback is everything I need in a car and as things stand I can see me holding onto it for maybe a couple more years.
There is absolutely nothing out there tempting me so I might even wait until the next RS3 is out at this rate.
Ditto.

I'm trying to finalise my preferred spec so that I can place a deposit fairly soon. Is the auto dimming and folding mirrors option worthwhile for 275? Do the mirrors fold as standard? Greatful for views/feedback...
Definitely going for the mag ride, sound and comfort pack and pearlescent paint on the Sport Edition.:footy:

I personally always go for folding mirrors, but your choice, some do t think it is worth it, but I like the fact I know Car is locked when mirrors are folded in, and numpties can’t bash them in car parks

Defiantly worth it in my opinion; they also have auto dimming with this option too.

Agreed. Didn't have it on mine, always a regret.

Lincoln Audi have informed me my car has been given build week 23, so early June, will still defer mine until September though as it should arrive before then. Anyone else been given a build week as of yet?

Not yet, but if the build week is that soon is going to be really difficult to wait until September....:readit:

You guys should know there is an online tracking system for your orders...

You don’t need to ask the dealer to update you. Just get the order number and head to audi.co.uk

My first brand new car, I'm sure when my dad bought his A6 it was about 4 weeks until he got a build week. Feel bad for those wanting theirs ASAP, mine will be gathering dust for a month or 2 by the look of it. Will need my 2 years no claims to get insured though so I'm happy to wait. Speaking of which anyone want to buy an A3

I have used the link & cant find the bit to put in your order number to see how the build is going. Only giving me option for vin

Has anything changed in terms of engine spec? Wonder how it sounds... does it have an opf filter?

Don’t think anyone knows mate, but power advertised as the same, but will surely now have PPF due to WLTP, and will probably be a little quieter again

Such a shame isn’t it. Such an amazing car deserves to be personalised and seen in a variety of colours. This is what I was deciding between...

I wouldn’t spec either colour as I like blue and red, but the orange is nice.....the lime is horrible though. Mind you in the office Carpark my cars stand out as every other car is a boring white, grey, silver or black. Just boring colours.

One of the few reasons I won't be buying another Audi after this FL RS3 which i'm already in two minds wether to sell or not while the prices are still good on these cars and i'm on low miles with good optional extras.

It just seems Audi have become lazy on the RS3 I feel, I know its basically a modded A3 but Id still like to see more change and a bigger difference between the two in terms of looks, take the badges off and a normal person wouldn't be able to tell the difference apart from the sound/engine and afew other small changes.

They could’ve done it to look like the Audi concept vehicle. No massive change needed

True, the only thing that tempted me when I bought my rs3 was the m2 or the Alfa quadthingy. The m2 was 2 door, not an all weather daily driver, same for the Alfa but I was also concerned about depreciation on the Alfa.

The new m3 m4 looks interesting 510bhp and switchable 4x4 to rwd.

Totally agree and I've mentioned this before too.
For whatever reason ... the saloon alloys don't look right on the hatch and the hatch alloys don't suit the saloon.
A bizarre cheapskate 'upgrade option' from Audi this IMO.

Just dumb isnt it. guess they have lots of spare rotor alloys to get rid of.

“Alright mate, your new car will be built 4 weeks from now so I reckon over for the end July”

Sounds like this lot of cars are being built faster, as I remember waiting a lot longer for my S3 & RS3. I’ll wait to September 1st to get it & take part in the usual new plate shenanigans. Mine will have a private plate on it anyway. Seems like they more willing to give away more stuff on 1st of March & September

I think the Audi rotor must be the most over used alloy wheel in history.
It has literally been going YEARS in various Audi cars over the years.
I would be interested to know just when it was introduced.
It was fitted to my S5 in 2013 and was a fairly old design then lol :)

That's why I went to the Sport Edition in the end, seen loads of Audis from A1 to A5 with that design alloy...so much so that they look run of the mill..

Hmmm, earlier builds than I expected. Will waiting for September make any difference when it comes to resale value? I have a private plate anyway...

I’m waiting because I have another car that I’m paying for until December. But I don’t think they let me get away with waiting that long

Yes, should make a little bit of difference to resale, even if it’s £1000 or so.

Interesting write up today on the Pistonheads website for the 'new 2019 Facelift RS3'...

Yep this is the WLTP compliant one, so Audi are 100% selling the RS again even with the new A3 round the corner.

Interestingly, the torque curve has changed i.e less low down grunt, and its increased in weight by 20kg.

Surely not noticeable as just 250rpm higher vs before? I'd be interested to hear the noise as all post wltp cars do seem to be almost silent!

Yeah the write up didnt mention noise/sound.
And yes max torque is still 354 but higher up the rev range.

I’ve been in convo with a chap I know who is test driving up in Scotland at the moment
Seems it’s still a great sounding car.

He sent me a picture of the exhaust exit pipes asking if I thought they looked different..

The MMi and VC have had little tweaks too.

Oh and the bonnet release now has a graphic on it
