Hi, I’ve a problem with my drivers window, it won’t go up or down. So far I’ve checked the fuses, the loom for breaks, changed the switches, changed the motor, when I press the switch for the window,I can feel the module triggering. The glass also moves without any problems from the winder, all the other windows work fine from the switches, I have also tried the key in the door but nothing, any help with this would be great, Thanks.

Have you tried a reset. My car did this once and from memory you can use the key fob to reset it. I used Google to find that out.

No, but I’ll give it a try once I find out how to do it, Thanks.

MBJ, I’ve removed the motor and checked the window wasn’t locked up using the
Cog on the regulator, cheers.

Gotcha. Thanks.
I’d say if you can power window manually with a power probe or something this will determine if it’s a control or actuator issue.

Thanks I’ll give it a go, I should have said earlier it’s on a 2010 a3 4 door 8p not my S3 in the picture, also I’m getting power to the module on the motor, I can feel it triggering the relay when I press the button to put the window up. Nothing when I press down, the replacement motor and module does the same and I know its good. all other windows are not effected, thanks again.

It has to be either wiring or a part.

Have you disconnected the motor from the regulator, left it hanging but plugged in & tried the switches then.

Hi, it was one of the first things I done, with both motors, I can feel the relay clicking when I press the switch for up but the motor does nothing, no response at all when pressing down, Thanks.

Update on this fault, it ended up a wiring issue as was suggested, had to be a bit more assertive checking the individual wires, just shows checking from plug to plug isn’t always 100 percent, Cheers for your help.

Had to be tbh bud, well done on persistence.
