Before I pay over £300 for this induction kit has anyone tried it out? It seems faultless to me but before I pull the trigger on it I’d like some feedback if anyone has got it? I don’t know how far to go with this car (possibly stage 2) so apart from the awesome wooshie noises has anyone seen an improvement with performance before or after a map? Thank you.

Hi mate. I have the bsr induction kit for sale if your interested.

I replaced it with the Carbonio one.

You wont get much more sound effect from it to be honest, if anything you will hear more rattles...performance gains are not going to be a lot really with it .
Best plans is a free flowing flat panel filter in the oem box, wack on a 034 HFC , maybe a uprated exhaust and get a decent remap and you'll notice a big improvement, otherwise your going into bigger expense that maynot really be worth it on , depends on what you expect to get from the car and how long will it be kept for.

Hi sonny

I have seen that one and I wasn’t to keen on the look of the build quality, is the carbonio one the same as the ecs but with the carbon cover? Or is it a different thing all together?

The build quality is actually very good on the BSR one

The Carbonio one is very similar to the one that awesome got do.

As it’s fwd Rob I wouldn’t want to go much past the 250-260hp mark without adding a slip diff in it so stage 2 would be max tbh, so you think the panel filter would be as good as the ecs if I’m going potentially stage 2 route down the line?

That’s looks good sonny where did you get that? Have you noticed any improvement from standard to the bsr then to the carbonio?

I'm on a reliable 270 with a K&N flat panel filter in the oem airbox, 034 HFC with larger bore downpipe and a sensible remap.

I got it off Facebook marketplace for a bargain. The used to retail at around £450. I got it for £160

I have noticed a bit difference. More responsive. And it shields the heat intake too

That may well be the route to go then Rob possibly put the funds towards the 034 hfc is that 270 with the standard fuel pump?

yes still on the oem BUL item, I do have a FMIC still sitting in its box but just haven't got round to fitting it thus far, probably wont either now.

Its only a half height one but specific fit to B7 tfsi .
i'll fish out the details chap.

I’ve got this intake... definitely makes a lot more induction noise than the K&N panel filter I had in the stock box. As for performance gains it’s about the same. I kind of knew it wouldn’t add anymore power but I like the look of it and wanted the induction noise gain.
I wouldn’t recommend spending extra on the carbon fibre lid/ intake part... It’s a complete pain in the backside to install as none the fittings match up at all, I had to improvise quite a bit.

The metal heat shield you have on the manifold, is that stock or part of the ECS kit?

Surprised the fitment isn’t spot on for that kind of money! Yeah I wouldn’t of went for the carbon one I do like the stainless manifold cover you with it but even though it’s not as effective as a boxer u it like yours I’m to childish and prefer to look at a big open air filter when I lift up the bonnet lol.

I’m sure that kind of induction kit will add power once adding into a custom map as it’s made properly but a few extra hp your never notice daily driving, as said before it’s more for noise and that’s what I’m looking for so if your getting a big difference in noise it’s a win for me as I love the induction and turbo noises :)

Different chassis, but the carbonio did absolutely squat to my A3 with updated turbo & custom map, it was actually ****, just looked good, but that was it.

Be careful of the placebo effect.

I have the ECS/APR carbonio intake kit, apart the increased noise, amplifies the DV+ woosh noise it doesn't do much. I have hardly noticed any gains in throttle response or in power, it's about the same as with the standard air box, however I must say I had the increased size silicone 034 Motorsport turbo inlet pipe already instead of the crappy oem rubber hose. the main problem I see in the cone filter size it's quite small in my opinion+ the heat shielding ins't as great as it seems on pics. the standard box does a far superior job keeping the heat away from the air filter, if ,i could only manage to fit a cone filter within the standard box...
anyways, on the other hand that sound these intake kits make is why most folks opt for the induction kits.

Seems to be summed up then makes all the noises with no extra power soooo I’m not spending that amount on a noise I’ll hold fire on that for now.

sorry about previous spelling or wording my iPhone seems to think what I’m writing isn’t what I want to put and swaps it for some random s**t that makes no sense.

technology, you cant trust it..lol

and like a lot of car aftermarket kits, they are all noise and no action.:whistle2:

put the cash towards a 034 HFC , much better idea, well 034 HFC's have gone up a lot recently but £300 for the intake would be £300 off the cost of the HFC and the gains from the HFC are far better.

I think I might just get a remap for now and slowly get the bits over time for a proper stage 2 of I love it that much down the line lol
