I've decided to ditch the airtec front mount and install a welly cooler as I've seen a few posts here & on fb groups where the airtec is fine for a stage 2 tune but can be restrictive if going past that.

I've read the stickies & seen theres a few ways to do it......I planned to cut back a 76mm elbow & tig it straight onto the cooler as I want to keep the spot lights, from there back its into a 76-63 silicone elbow & 63mm from there onwards.

I know welly went 76mm straight after his charge pipe & there onwards but I've also seen others have gone 63mm all the way up to the cooler & on from there in 63mm.

I want to get this right 1st time as I hate doing things twice........will the the 76mm elbows cause a pressure drop coupled with the cooler that isn't ideal? I've read 1-2 psi drop is manageable but anything more than that isn't good.

I've mocked up a couple of options with the elbows with silicone reducers & then just the 76-63 reducers but think the silicone elbows may cause me to lose the spot lights from what I've read.

Any input on this & what really is the best route to take with this or is there nothing in it really & I'm just over complicating things lol

I’ve seen the fmic fitted upside down ( think might of been a badger5 job could be wrong)so
You can keep the 76mm hoses and fog lights

You can keep the fogs with 63mm elbows welded onto the cooler, it’s easier with a cooler that has 63mm outlets, but can also be done with 76mm outlets (I’ve done it both ways).
63mm pipe work is more than adequate and will make install easier elsewhere

Yeah I've seen it done like this but it looks like it throws another 90 into the mix which I guess could be another restriction in the scheme of things

Karl did you manage to retain the fog lights with 76mm elbows welded on?

I'll have to pull the bumper off & look at the options with what I have......if it's looking like a no go I'll get some 63mm bends & work with those

I had 76mm outlets and kept my fog lights but I had to chop a lot of bumper, it did not sit very flush. But if u ain’t bothered about that at the time I was not.

If I’m gonna go that way again I’ll go 63mm outlets not 76mm don’t want any pressure drop if can be helped.

I've ordered up some 63mm bends to come off the inlet/outlet, just need to work out how I'm gonna go from 76-63 with the alloy bends....
