I've had my S4 avant now for 5 months. Absolutely love it. Got it at 7k now it's on 13k. After about 2k miles it started blowing smoke out of the drivers side exhaust pipe, only that side and only from the inside of the two. It lasts until the engine is warm, oil is at 70 degrees or so.
First question is whether anyone else has experienced this?
I have been back to the dealer and they have compression tested the coolant system. There is no issue there. They also stated that the car naturally pumps a lot of fuel in at start up to get it warm, as quickly as possible.
What they couldn't answer is why it is only one pipe, even after checking with audi, other than it has a valve system to reduce the number used at start, seems odd as there is noise coming from the passenger side and all of the pipes.
I get the sense that I'm being fobbed off. In the 6k miles I've done it has had the coolant topped up and used about a litre of oil.
Got to say it was a little embarrassing in winter as when cold there was a lot of smoke.
I'll happily take your thoughts.
