After getting my windows tinted I was thinking of taking out the retractable luggage cover. That would save carrying a few excess kilograms in weight. I was wondering if others on the forum continue using the cover with tinted windows?

Always use it, I have always believed that it serves the addition purpose of restraining the contents of the boot in the event of an accident

Surely the reason isn't a couple of kgs of weight...surely. That's no more mass than a fire extinguisher, four litres of fuel or a good pub lunch.
Stop fussing and fiddling and enjoy the drive; goodness knows you have some great roads over there.

I leave mine out, partly because I also consider that the privacy glass does a good job of concealing the contents of the boot, but also because I do a lot of load lugging and I would otherwise be constantly removing and replacing it. I don’t find it the easiest item to replace so it saves me getting ratty with the thing. I also leave the luggage guard out because that is even harder to replace and the two items together do weigh a fair bit.
