Are there 10 year extended warranty in the UK related to Inlet Manifold for A3? 008213/P2015

Here's some pictures of it when I installed it.

I got this from the scan

01-Engine -- Status: Malfunction 0010

1 Fault Found:
001674 - ECM Power Relay Load Circuit
P068A - 000 - Opens Too Early
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2047.15.31
Time: 31:63:63
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 0 /min

Temperature: 8.0°C
Temperature: 13.0°C
Absolute Pres.: 1010.0 mbar

I had a look on Ross Tech & they have this for that code.

P068A/001674 - ECM Power Relay Load Circuit: De-Energized Performance Too Early
Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
Possible Causes
  • Fuse(s) faulty
  • Ignition Switch faulty
  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Power Supply Relay (J271/J317) faulty
  • Power Supply Relay (J271/J317) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Check Fuse(s)
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Power Supply Relay (J271/J317)
  • Check/Replace Power Supply Relay (J271/J317)

Note: A weak Battery may set this fault code. Insure the Battery voltage is at least 11.5v.

Do you think it could have anything to do with the part I changed or leaving an connector off? I doubt it but not sure. If it's the battery I guess I could try an jump start? about 3-4 weeks ago my car wouldn't start due to low battery as I didn't drive it for nearly a week. The sound it makes when trying to start the car is like indicators flicking rapidly.

Battery seems like a good place to start

Okay it was the battery. Got a jump start yesterday and all seems fine so far. Thanks for all the help everybody, especially samisnake.

I got the engine management light back on. When running an scan I get the same error as before. When connecting the solenoid valve I didn't change the hoses but I don't think that would be the cause? What steps could I take next to fix it or would I need to take out or replace the manifold to do anything else? I watched that video with the TSI engine which I think is the same as mine but in a golf and it looks quite fiddly.

Fault code -
Address 01: Engine (CCZ)

1 Fault Found:
008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)
P2015 - 000 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10100000

I see on ross-tech under Possible Solutions it says

Check/Replace Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157)
  • Perform Output Tests/Basic Setting

From Ross-tech

18447/P2015/008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
  • Power Loss
Possible Causes
  • Intake Manifold Flap faulty
  • Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) stuck/faulty
  • Engine Control Module Software/Firmware Version faulty
  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Check Intake Manifold Flap
  • Check/Replace Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157)
    • Perform Output Tests/Basic Setting
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157)
Special Notes
  • In some Cases the Issue can only be resolved by Replacing the whole Intake Manifold.
  • The Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) and Manifold Runner Position Sensor (G336) may be Part of the same Unit.
  • When found in a VW Golf/Jetta (1K): 1.9l PD-TDI (BRM), check Engine Control Module (ECM) Software Version:
    • 03G-906-016-AB @ 7328 or 7550 as well as 03G-906-016-AC @ 7280 or 7551 do have a Software Error which requires a special Adaptation for the Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) which at this Point can only be performed with the Factory Tool.

  • When found in North America Audi vehicles check Technical Service Bulletin number: 2044003

thats annoying.

have a watch of

and

gives an idea of what to look for, and a couple tests you can do.

looks like in the quote audi gave you, they were gonna change the intake manifold to the newer style, as the newer style uses a difference solenoid and hose to the older style. mentioned in the second video.

Thanks for the videos, I was watching some others as well. Watching the second one I noticed that the upgraded manifold has the solenoid valve part no. Audi suggested, that's interesting... hmm maybe I should try that or maybe not, I think I'm more leaning towards getting the upgraded manifold. So, the upgraded manifold number is 06j133201bh and that should fit my car? Are there any reputable online shops I can buy it from? I just see places I ain't heard of on .co.uk sites and ebay.

https://www.facebook.com/retailpartsspecialists/

message them or call them, give them the part number (or just give them the reg, they can check to make sure its the correct one for your car) and see what a genuine one from a vw/seat dealer will cost. theyre very good on their prices, but i have a feeling it wont be cheap.

if you could pinpoint exactly whats wrong with your manifold you could try and fix that one item, eg. the postion sensor, if it is faulty is part number 07L907386A. but then why is it faulty? maybe its not and there is a problem with the position of the flaps.
theres a fix for that supposedly
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P2015-FA...m=253078088667&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

but then maybe the flap mech itself has broken. could go on and on and on.

i wouldnt use the hose or valve from that audi quote on yours, those are meant for the newer manifold.
getting the newer manifold might be the way to go...
wish i could help

Thanks, I might give them an shout tomorrow. With that part from ebay, I've seen it mentioned on other sites and in videos and I got it in my head that, that fix is for Diesel engines, think I saw an comment somewhere and I noticed that most of the posts solving the P2015 issue with this part usually were mentioning diesels. I could be wrong and that would be an inexpensive fix.

If I end up trying it myself and taking the manifold out, I think it looks fiddly but could be done. An potential issue I see is the Fuel Injectors need to be resealed when putting the manifold back in.... apparently resealed, with an special tool. I looked the tool up and it's too expensive to buy to use for an one off job. Does anyone know if there are any much cheaper alternatives to it? wait, well I did find this video but don't have that much faith in it being an viable option lol
