Sports diff on B8.5 S4

I was looking for a while and never seen one as well speced as you are looking for.. I'm not even sure they exist.

You might want to prioritise the options that cannot be retrofitted (panoramic) then list those that can in price order and ease of fitment.

Panoramic with sports diff...... Has anybody seen this combo?

Good luck though.
 
I have one sitting outside though mine is B8, not sure I have ever seen 8.5.

BMW who I bought it from had no idea initially mine had the diff option
 
Yup - Def has diff

No need for photos, just look up the VIN on a VIN decoder and look for the option.

There was one on the Audi used approved site, but it got sold before pictures were even uploaded. It was fully loaded in terms of spec. Pan roof, sports diff, full ADS, high beam assist, adaptive lights, lane assist etc etc. It went very quick. I rang the garage and it has sold within an hour of going on sale on the used approved site.

Theres this one on at the moment, but it has naff seats and no pano roof:

Since when does a hole in the roof provide a "panoramic" view? Marketing people are such bullshitters aren't they?

I take it back. Just look at the panoramic sunroof on the left compared to the slide and tilt on the right. What an amazing increase in visibility.

I haven't considered a sunroof as a must-have (or even a nice-to-have) since the pre-aircon days of the 90s.

mirror.. check for airborne obstructions, signal, manoeuvre is what I learned.
Sun roof is a must for this. Also the extra humidity allowing water in is a must.

Decent spec, naff seats similar to my 2018 Q5 leather/Alcantara But SS seats WAY nicer.

I’ve never owned a car with sunroof, but I really like the panoramic roof. Plus I’m coming from a 4pot, so will be nice to hear the extra engine noise, especially in tunnels etc. Well that’s my reasoning behind it anyway.

I’m planning on keeping the car around 8 years or so, so I am looking to get the best starting spec possible. The most costly retrofits are obviously the panoramic roof, ADS & sports diff. The other cosmetic stuff is easy enough like rear camera, high beam assist etc.

To be honest, even the super sport seats I can live without for the time being and then just find an interior at a later date if I found an s4 with panoramic roof and sports diff.

Not at all. Audi did an excellent job making that pano roof sooooooo much better than the standard sunroof.

Mark my words: Next Audi will offer an S4 with a diesel engine which is sooooooo much better than the petrol one!

So, I’ve given up in the quest to find the right spec, and opted for best spec vs price. Still a b8.5

I pickup the new motor on Saturday doesn’t have sports diff or super sport seats, but its glacier white and has pan roof, tech pack high, b&o, parking system plus & DAB.

I’ve got some change left over from the asking price, so going to replace the interior straight away with the super sports and then start looking into the sports diff retrofit and will probably do the folding mirrors pretty soon after aswell

ADS? dynamic steering?.... or was it just the white colour you went for and the sunroof?
 
No ADS or dynamic steering. Not too bothered about the dynamic steering anyway in all honesty. I mainly wanted the diff. If I could have found one with all the options it would have been great but there’s none out there that also had the sunroof.

ADS I think is a very easy retro fit. Just need the button but can be unlocked in the cars menu.

dynamic steering is the least beneficial of the ADS options.
 
It is.. I really hated the steering weight in my Audi A4, great for motorways but on the twisties it just made the car feel fat and heavy. I now have dynamic steering the twisties are much more fun.. car(S5) feels no where near as fat as the A4 did and they are practically the same, I thought this was the dynamic steering, am I wrong?
 
Dynamic steering has the adjustable ratio doesn’t it?

I’ve had a car with the electronic steering rack before (non dynamic a3 8p) so I guess I’m pretty prepared for how the s4 will feel to a certain degree anyway compared to coming from a hydraulic steering rack. It would have been nice to have, but it’s not essential for me.

Yes, the ratio changes. For me it is quite noticeable - in dynamic it feels more responsive, and in comfort it is good for parking. I like it, but it is indeed a "nice to have" compared to the adjustable dampers and SD.
