What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

It's a dangerous path to go down, I'm sure my neighbours think I'm crazy, no end of weird looks when the snow foam comes out The products only grow...

Mid detailing photos . Snowfoam , wash, clay , wash and dry . Some marring from the clay , Sonax will sort that out . Sun is out in force which isn't ideal but I'm committed now

My exterior detailing inventory is all getting used up before l buy anything else
3 tubs of waxes very good ones may l add
1 full bottle =quick detailer
Got 4 snow foams
1 citrus prewash
Only going to renew the quick detailer with some DnD and that's it for me..... Only buying must have products now
Oh ... Forgot... got loads of pads and compounds and paint cleansers, microfibre cloths
Will treat myself to a detailing tool when l get back from holiday
Having the proper tools is the foundation for a great paint finish well in my head it is lol

Wouldn't use the machine polisher in the sun mate if you can help it.... The compound will dry up prematurity ie less effective especially on hot black paint, if you can't avoid the midday sun leave the polishing to late afternoon when it's cooler

First things first the Scottish Jedi was right on the money . Polishing in the sun .......... Ball ache . Big time . Should have listened @jassyo06.

So I'm about done for the day . Products used:
TAC Systems Ultra snowfoam / shampoo.
Bilt Hamber Clay Bar.
Sonax Profiline Perfect finish .
Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL.
PoorBoys Natty's Black paste wax.
Angelwax H2GO.
Autisol..
Gummi Phledge.
Fireball Ultimate Tyre Coating.
Hex logic quantum Green / orange .

Found the Sonax to be quite dusty although the sun on black panels contributed to that but the Scholl wasn't so dusty . I'm reasonably happy for now . It's a nightmare getting the right temperature / sunlight to polish properly .

Well yer car still looks amazing mate nothing gives that glass like gloss appearance more than a machine polish...bet yer ****** lol The Scholl has more lube in it and can be worked longer,Sonax cuts instantly....it's very quick with its job.....so ye dont have to work it as much as most other one step correction compounds....hence the dusting,l have a early start tomorrow up at 7am hopefully finish around 5pm doing my own car for a change...........with some Menzerna 3500 and finish it off with some Fireball wax

Thanks pal. You're right I'm ******** now . Long day but tucking into s beer now Fingers crossed you get a good day for it tomorrow mate. Would love to get my hands on some Fireball wax at some point
Running out of wax so well see . Got to say the Sonax does leave s nice gloss. Just need the right conditions to work with it .

Didn't do anything much with the alloys today , ordering new wheels and tyres tomorrow

Ok, so taking @FranA3 ‘s advice and washed with fairy as clearers all cr*p and max protect coating can take this abuse apparently.

So here you go, fairy liquid and nothing else. Pretty impressive shine I would say. Just to reiterate - no BSD, or D&D or any QD added.

Wow. Q5 looking stunning Nev . Good job mate . Tell you what though , that fairy liquid is good stuff in moderation. Great as a decon wash.

Used it in mine the other week as a make do, was amazed how it turned out

Used some diluted fairy in a spray bottle today , following Jassy's advice . Used it as a lubrication for the clay bar. Worked s treat and got that print bar again in no time . Considering the car was waxed two weeks ago it was needed as the wax we repelling everything else I the at it

Am ****** been at it lol for 8 hours still didn't even finish the machine polishing and only managed a quick spray of Gyeon Cure that l found in the Syncro kit l still have. Washed er indoors car this morning prior to even snow foaming my car plus machine polishing with a 80mm/12 throw machine ain't the quickest lol need to get a new machine after my hols, but the Flex xfe 7 - 12 - 80 is a awesome little machine, gyeon Cure is very grabby been awhile since used it but l needed something decent to protect the paint that didn't take up too much time and effort, also found some scratches/scrapes on the lower left part of the rear bumper just above the exhausts.... Some ******* has nudge me in the works car park and didn't crack a light, perfect finish didn't take it out .. It did make it look a bit better, so l have ordered some Sonax max cut compound so this should remove the scuff, ps used Sonax perfect finish today along with 4 Flex pads ...

Lol, very pleased I could contribute to your de-stress mate

Looking at my lane you can see why black is driving me round the bend.

A neighbours friend drove past in Range Rover at 30 mph (ok, slight exaggeration there), I spat my dummy out big time, and asked him politely to drive slower next time

Autosol and microfibre brought mine up a treat (and elbow grease). Done the same on the S3 (attached are pics from the S5).

After another epic 600 mile drive yesterday from Carnac in Brittany back to Peterborough the front of the car was a bit of a mess again!
Although the rest of the car although dusty was still clean
Up nice and early this morning and gave it a good clean down by hand
Now to try and get some polish on it before it gets too warm

Hi Rich. Mine were in quite bad condition when we bought the car and I was considering changing the tips , cost around £50 but a pain to change.

First of all I sprayed them with WD40, generous amount. Then wiped off the WD40 after about 20 minutes. Smothered the tips in Autosol and left them for another 20 minutes. Then using a wire wool pad , ASDA kitchen type of thing and literally scrubbed them .

Came up lovely and now after the car is washed / dried , I smear Autosol on them before I polish or wax. At the end I just wipe them down with a MF cloth , job done .
