bluetooth adapter for concert 2

It looks good. I might get one. What are those 2 wires for with the Ebay one?

Not quite sure, I would assume one of them is ground like the german unit but no idea about the second one

The usb-nachruesten one works wonders in my concert 3. A breeze to install and has worked reliably for 3 or so weeks now. I recommend it.

Sounds like I'm gonna get the german one, did they supply you with the stereo removal tools?

No, they can sell it to you pretty cheap but I had my mechanic pop the radio when I was there for a service.

I saw that they sell them for 5€ extra.

Did you pay german vat?

Shipping is very steep at 15€ though, might just get one from ebay as anything over 40€ i have to pay Norwegian vat :frown:

Only Canadian taxes for me. Shipping was expensive yes. Worth it in my opinion but yours might differ obviously.

I sourced (2006 A3 8P) a Dension from Enfig a very long time ago and was extremely happy with the way it integrates with the steering wheel controls and the song display function in the dash. Plugs in to the factory harness and then you plug the factory harness back into the supplied connector. Seamless integration and Christian is very helpful. (shipping to Toronto, ON was easy) https://enfigcarstereo.com/audi_ipod.html

My a3 has factory fitted Bluetooth calls, so I'm just looking for something that will allow me to stream spotify from my phone via Bluetooth - ideally with the ability to change track using the steering wheel roller switch (I presume that the volume switch works regardless of which device I went for, since it already does so when connected through aux cable).

What's the actual functional difference between these two devices?

Cheers!

The eBay one that you sent the link for will not work with the harness wires of the Concert II. I replaced my Dension Gateway 5 ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dension-Ga...ash=item41e391e971:g:YkgAAMXQ3kNTf2lt&vxp=mtr ) My hardware version HW is V1R6-11 plus I have the Bluetooth dongle and cabling to connect the Concert II. It came out of my '06 A3 8P with a Concert II. The other unit may work. I'm not confident about the molex connector (pictured with the device) fitting the Concert II.

The usb-nachruesten one will allow you to next/prev songs with the rotary button. Works for me with my android phone on play music.

Cheers guys. I ended up buying what I think is exactly the same as the German one, directly from amazon.

It's arriving in the next couple of days so will let you know how I get on.

Just fitted the USB nachruesten device and it works perfectly. £37 delivered from amazon and very little messing about, just pop the radio out (I used some cheap removal keys from ebay), remove the blue connector and replace with the Bluetooth unit's connector. Earth the connector (against one of the headunit screws), then push it back in place. Done!

Thanks for the advice. Hope this helps someone else just looking for a cheap way to stream from a phone over BT.

I bought the usb nachruesten unit and after installing it according to instructions and scanning with 2 different phones I can not detect the bluetooth adapter :blue: just my luck that I get a broken unit :grey:

Stupid question but, the ground is connected too?

That is not a stupid question :cool new:

I tried to mount the ground to two different screws on the chassis.

I scanned with two different mobile phones to be sure that was not the culprit, they could both detect my jabra freeway handsfree but not the nachruesten unit.

Ok, I ask cause when I installed mine my phone would not find the adapter until the ground cable was properly fixed in the screw behind my concert 3 unit. Don't know about concert 2 though.

I looked for the screw directly behind the unit which I had seen on a few youtube videos but it was not present on my unit. I mounted the ground to a screw by the antenna and the side of the chassis.

Good news is the usb nachuresten guy on eBay said he could send a replacement:rock:

Lafa, Nick and Nordica, what control does the radio/steering wheel controls have on the track list - does it simply scroll through the song list, or can you jump to different albums and folders?

And does the radio display show anything other than the track number - does it give the song title for instance?

Many thanks.

Havent tested that much to be honest, but mine (concert 3) only skips next/prev songs of whats current playing on my phone. Works on streaming platforms.

Nothing is actually displayed on the MFD or radio even, it cant even follow current songs time progression or index in the playlist. Its very basic in that regard, unless I miss something.

What it does well though is connection stability and sound rendition.

My experience is exactly the same - you can change songs (and even initiate the first song playing from Spotify, with a single scroll on the steering wheel), but it doesn't display song names anywhere. Tried with both android and iPhone and both behave the same.

A little update on the usb naucheresten unit:

The seller shipped a new unit very fast and it worked like a charm. Highly recommended!

Did you lose any existing functionality from using the adapter? I'm guessing from the video you will lose the ability to use the aux input for example due to replacing a connector on the back with bluetooth adapter?

Yep you lose the aux in, which is totally fine for me since the audio quality was so bad anyway.

The Denison unit will allow song title displace in the centre instrument cluster, not on the radio. Sometimes Apple iPhone updates cause a few minor issues however after a couple of resets, all comes back. If you have an alert about a light bulb, fuel, oil, etc. The display and the wheel function stops working until the system resets. However, the skip and FF function on the radio works as well as the functions on the phone. There are some other features that the design unit is supposed to allow access to however, I haven’t spent the time digging into them. I do know that the “add-on” USB component will only read mp3 files and not Apple Lossless nor AAC, nor Apple purchased music.

Where did you get it shipped to? Their website doesn't say that it ships to Canada so I'm hoping someone has had some luck with it

Don't know if they changed their shipping policy but I got mine from their website to Montreal.

Did it say ship to Canada? Cuz rn on their website Canada doesn't show up
At the time I ordered (a year ago maybe) I had no issue with shipping to Canada, maybe they wont ship overseas with whats going on right now. I ordered a set of racingline springs from UK and they could not ship by plane anymore they had to go with boat shipping...
