Hi,

I purchased my A3 Sportback Facelift without spare wheel and therefore with tyre sealant instead of a jack.

I am now looking at purchasing a second hand jack including the retainer for it. I think it should be fitted behind the small door in the trunk.

Anyone who can help me with the location of the retainer?

Thanks

Just sorted the same issue, my jack is held in a plastic retainer in the boot well, left hand side. There are two black plastic dome covers which pop off and the retainer fits onto them.

Also no jack or spare in my 2019, so I bought said items off e-bay and the locking down wheel-nut clamp/bolt from Audi. I've wrapped the jack up in a cloth and store it in the 18" space saver wheel along with torque wrench etc. Boot floor still sits in the lower position

I had no jack too on my 2019 sportback, but I took it and the wrench off my old A3 8PA. I need to find a place in the trunk and secure the things there, so they don't fly and damage anything.

Mine is also a 2019 sportback and the jack retainer does fit as described above. I bought the jack and retainer from ebay but if you only want the retainer I am sure it will only be a couple of quid from our parts person. The rest of the tools sit inside the plastic holder with Velcro in the right hand side cubby hole. Let me know if you want the part number for the jack holder

Thank you all for the responses.

I don't think a jack will fit in my boot well as I have the sound system which includes a loud speaker in the well. There is only a bit of free space around it where the tire normally would be. The loud speaker is put into the space saver wheel.

Not sure where in the boot well you can fit the retainer, could you help me with a picture?

I sorted it out a simple way: wrapped the jack into a piece of bubble wrap and put inside an empty storage compartment behind the left wheel arc in the trunk.

Audi are really becoming cheap skates !
Hanging onto mine !
I don't believe it is cost cutting. I wanted the spare wheel/jack combo with my 2019 A3. I ordered late Oct 2018, but the order was not accepted/processed until Nov. By this time the option was not available and the car had to come with gunk and compressor.
All manufacturers are fighting weight issues to get the emissions down and not having a 20kg spare is a way to do it.

Mmm that’s what they want you to think . Looking at a TRoc in dealers on Saturday , they come with wheel, etc.
On my PFL S3 the seats have S3 embossed on them . Now they have S the same as the S line .
When I open my door there is a red light on the door edge . It is now a reflector .
I am sure there are more ... During the period from mine to now (40 months ) the price has also gone up a lot .
I guess they have a large fine to pay !

Hope this helps, for me it keeps it all tidy and out of the way although hope I never have to use it!
I got the retainer and the jack from here, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113673305854?ViewItem=&item=113673305854
For the wrench I got one of the spinners that comes in aflat case that tucks down the other side of the wheel space nice and tightly. https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/spinner wrench.
Hope that helps you.
