evening everyone. I’m currently a a3 saloon owner but looking at upgrading to a a4 advant as the a3 is a little small for us as we have 2 kids under 3 and a double buggy that takes all the boot space up

I’m going to view this one tomorrow

https://www.lookers.co.uk/audi/used-car/audi/a4/s-line-2-0-tdi--190-ps-6-speed/id/136036

Is there anything I should look out for with this model ??

Also I’ve spotted one on auto trader. But it’s too far away, but the front bumper looks much better then the one I’m going to view is this the s4 bumper or something ??

I’ve seen a couple of adverts that saying s line sport suspension or sports suspenion. Is there a difference between the 2?

Thanks in advance

If I understand correctly, the one at Lookers is the one you are going to view and the one pictured above is the one too far away? The front bumper is basically identical on both, the only difference being the Matrix headlights (and washers) on the autotrader car.

I believe the S Line suspension options at that time were sport or dynamic (and dynamic was available in sport or comfort version). I think you could also spec sport suspension on non- S Line cars, the ultra S and SE versions strangely had sport suspension as standard. It’s all changed again now as I think dynamic suspension is standard. Never ceases to amaze me how even Audi themselves mis-describe their own vehicle specifications on used vehicles. The Lookers one doesn’t appear to have hill hold assist which was a silly-cheap option and really useful.

Nothing really to watch for, usual stuff like brake discs on a car with that mileage - depends how it has been driven. 52k so far on mine with no issues.
Mine is an auto with that engine and you can easily get 50+mpg without trying unless all your journeys are across town.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think your right about the bumpers. I think the angle the photo was taken on the auto trader advert makes the bumper look better and more in your Face if you get me

Most my commute is motorway to work and back and average around 48-52 in my a3 2.0tdi 150ps

It also looks like it hasn’t got the sat nav that mine has so hopefully I can get Audi to chuck it in with a deal today, as for hill hold assist I’m not really fussed about it as I don’t have it now although I did have it in a hire car while mine was in for it’s cambelt, it worked nicely but don’t really need it in all honestly. Plus I’m sure it’s able to be retrofitted if I was that bothered ?

I’d really like the vc and possibly the auto s tron box but finding a one in the colour and trim I want for under 20k is tough.

The wheels will be swapped in a couple months as there not the nicest.

How long have you been looking? I would hold out for auto if you can.

This one looks good? Has auto and vc
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Bear in mind you can use the nav on your phone if you use CarPlay

Not sure about that, the mmi system appears to be basic. Not sure if CarPlay or AA would be available. If fact looking at the specs for that car it is rock bottom with options aside from the standard stuff that comes with the sline and the privacy glass.
The steering wheel controls give it away plus no VC..

It has the Audi Smartphone interface, so looks like CarPlay would work. VC not an indicator as my 2018 car doesn’t have VC, and basic SD SatNav, but has CarPlay

There was options that wasn’t listed in the specs as it has sat nav.

I’m not that bothered to be honest, only upgrading as the a3 is too small for us at the moment. As long as it has nav I’m happy.

Vc and auto Tronic would have been nice but again doesn’t bother me

This is correct a VC isn't necessary for CarPlay or AA, and I didn't think I had suggested it :)

Our of interest regarding the steering wheel controls are these available for non VC?

With the basic non multifunction steering wheel you can scroll up and down the DIS and reset. On the right you have volume, mute and voice.
I think that's all...

the avant in this colour looks v good. does it have the power tailgate?

I think daytona looks better on avant than saloon. I go through phases of really liking my daytona (usually when it's just been washed) and regretting that I didn't go for the white.

It’s an s line, so you’ll have discovered that it has SD based satnav. Enjoy your new car. I’ve just arrived home after a 75 mile motorway trip in mine and after 2 and a half years and 20,000 miles, I love it!

I had a daytona A3 saloon and found it easy enough to keep it clean. Nanotechnology is my least favourite colour...
Blooming predictive typing, I mean that nano was my least favourite of all the colours.
The avant also looks very nice in white...

Yes it has the power tailgate

Also the sat nav witch shows as google maps. My a3 didn’t have this. Or it did but I never dug deep enough to realise haha

Still loveing the car although the manual gearbox is completely different to the a3. Very very tight but I’ll get used to it

Really quick for the size of it. 190bhp is enough to whisk you along nicely. Really quiet inside compare to the a3.
