Hi guys,

Where can I find the OE numbers for my brake pads/discs. I have found the sticker on the service book in the car but that doesn't help. Any suggestions? Im looking to get new pads/discs on euro parts but they don't specify the codes. Any help?

Cheers

You can get OE numbers from sites like www.oemepc.com but the Euro Car Parts website does list PR codes for braking products.
If you have a product selected eg a disc or a brake pad then clicking on the Fitment Detail tab will bring up a load of info, scroll down and the PR code is listed towards the end.

As above. Best way to get the right parts first time, is measure your brake disc diameters, front and back and order by Click & Collect so get the discount. Should be only size of pads for your model.

What's a PR code?

PM me your reg and I can get current OE numbers. Don’t rely on out of date online parts catalogues.

Cheers guys, however I cant see the PR codes you are talking about. See this photo from euro parts for brake pads

Would rather not share my reg online sorry. Ive found the PR codes and my front discs are 1ZK and rear are 1KW. However europarts dont actually specify the PR numbers on the fitment detail. Im assuming as long as I use my reg any parts they show for my car will fit fine?

Why not? It’s the only way to find the proper parts for your vehicle.

Euro car parts may not show you the correct parts for your car as they normally show parts for the model, not your specific reg.

But if you don’t want to send me your reg it’s fine, you’ll find it difficult to find proper and correct parts.

Look at some different brands, such as Brembo. I’ve never struggled to find a matching part

Yes but he’s said Euro don’t be list what he needs. I can get him the OE number he can cross reference others with.

he said euros dont have the pr code listed, which ive seen before. euros site is ****.
doesnt need that anyway, as euros list the diameter. 1zk=345mm 1kw=310mm. type in the reg, and select the disc based on size.

PM me your VIN.

gimme a sec and ill take a look at euros site. they are a terrible company to buy from as they like to hide info eg. part numbers which makes cross references a nightmare. guessing it stops price checking.

anyway are you definitely sure its 1LT you need (using the sticker in the boot/service book)?

Samisnake! Your a legend many thanks for that!!! I totally get the PR code but when i search it online i get totally lost how did you get the part number from that then match it to something euro are selling?

Would any of them brake pads euro are selling fit my vehicle or would they have been different?

Just to add a general observation for the benefit of others that may view this thread in future but I really don’t understand the comments about Euro Car Parts being a terrible website to navigate?
I’ve never failed to find the correct brake parts for any car I’ve looked for on their site?
Once a car is selected via the registration number and the yellow fitment tab is selected the PR codes are clearly visible?
Job done .

According to google 1KW are 288 mm pads but i cant see these on euro

sometimes the same pads fit a range of different sized discs, with different pr codes, and sometimes even different brands of cars.
eg. 1KW pads are also used with pr codes 1KZ,1KE,1KF,1KU, 1KJ,2EA.
as to why, the pr code relates to a brake disc and pad combo. if one car uses 288mm, and another 300mm, but both have the same pad they need to use different pr codes to make it clear which combo is being used.

it requires the use of 3 sites, because eurocarparts site is terrible (which reminds me of something im gonna mention later).
euros do not list pr codes clearly (although they do usually mention them in additional info). they also do not list either the OE part number nor the aftermarket part number.
that means you have to hope they have the pr code listed, or find the size of the brakes you need.

to do that, i use etka https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/ to find the part numbers and basic sizes.
using the part number, you can go to a site like autodoc.co.uk, paste in the OE part number and get every part they sell which matches. you get detailed size info, aftermarket part numbers etc.
using the size info you go back to euros and match them up.

euros use your reg to get the basic info on your car, then offer options based on that limited info. eg. a4 2013 diesel. there might have been 3 brake options for that model, that year and that engine. they offer all of them and leave it to you to work it out. **** site.

speaking of autodoc.co.uk, i priced up the exact same parts (brembo) on their site, and came to £214.73 delivered. using a (pre-vat) 10% discount on topcashback, would get you back £17.90.
dunno if you need the parts asap, but if not have a read of https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/autodoc-review.386198/ and give it a thought

its not the nagivating thats the issue, its the info provided, or not, which is. compared to other sites at least.
eg. no oe part numbers listed or searchable, pr codes not always listed (there was one brake pad size with no pr code listed for a4), aftermarket part number not supplied.

edit- added pics from euros just now of john9748's car on euros with a set of pads showing no pr code.

Fair enough , I see your point , LOL, although without the car details I can’t have a look myself......
I have found the pictures of the pads /discs very accurate though and when I last bought Textar front pads for my step-fathers E-class cross -referenced the Genuine part number with the Textar number visible in the ECP pic.
After checking with the Textar online brake catalogue it was found to be spot-on.
I do agree with your comment about the lack of part numbers for cross-referencing though , they don’t make it easy .
Having said that though , I find the GSF website even worse!

I have run textar pads on my S3 for years without any problems and when you need them for stopping they do that job brill , totally recommend them

I replaced the rear pads on my mums owned from new C180K a few years ago and they were Textar, they’d never been replaced so were definitely the factory fitment .
I’d totally recommend them too!
