£35 of fuel means nothing, it could have been £1 a litre meaning you used 35 litres, or £1.50 a litre meaning you used 20 litres.
Just sayin...

haha loving the comments,

I have to say out of my 5 S3's this one has been the best on fuel by a long shot not once have I got over 31mpg in the last few let alone in the 40's.

Always Run on Tesco Super £1.25 per L I think it is.

I know where you are coming from, i once got 38mpg on a 120 mile trip at a 65 mph cruise down A12 and M25. but it was pretty exceptional. ;)

My regular journeys from West London to Dorking and return would see an average of 36mpg. I think the Stg2+ helps in that but conversely, the same map could destroy that mpg!

Born and bred in Dorking, lived here all my life :)

Now I wondering what mine was up to as I have never gotten this amount off miles on £65 worth off Shells V Power @£1.35 a litre . So maybe someone with a little bit more Brains than me can work out the miles per gallon

Miles/litres used x 4.5 =mpg

Over my head , be nice if you could work out for me , I forgot to mention 90% journey was done @ 67 mph using cruise control and 4 brand new Michelin PS4

Not from those photos.

Or,
1. Fill it up, zero odometer
2. Use say, 1/2 a tank, record mileage
3. Fill up tank
4. Do the above sum with records mileage and litres required to fill tank.

You’re getting better mpg than my 3.2 by the looks of it though.

Believe me I thought something was wrong but that's how it has panned out

Cruise control would make quite a difference from normal foot work as you foot is never in the same position ( minor acel & decel.) And 60-70 mph is the most economical speed for motorway journeys might be the sweet spot for long journey drives. Obviously tyres wheel alignment weather condition are all variables that could change this

I think you will easily be right there as the weather was sunny all the trip , the old tyres best had 5mm which was the one I bought to get through not , no had alignment done after new tyres but might need to get done soon ,

Top tip with cruise to eek out even more miles.

Turn it off just before cresting a rise, then coast and re-engage half way down.

Eeks out a little more mpg

I do similar to this.
At the petrol station I fill to the brim (the cap holds the fuel in) that way there is no difference in fuel used as some pumps click earlier than others.
Reset Odo and cars MPG computer.
Take note of mileage.
Drive.
Fill up.
Take note of litres used/mileage driven from receipts and take a photo of the dash.

Dave,

I used to fill to the brim until I was trying to sort a fault with the evap system and read somewhere that this can mess them up as is messes with the pressure or something to do with the breather pipe.

I could however be taking out of my rear end!
