Hello people, looking at the S4 just got at auction I can see it is due brake fluid, plugs and air filter.

However, bit confused as to whether Audi UK say the v belt on the supercharger does or does not need changing at 60k? Or is it just an inspection to check any visible wear to the belt can anyone confirm? Also, if it does need changing do you change the aux belt at same time or wasting your cash as it’s a lifetime item? Many thanks in advance

I'd say that yes, replace that supercharger belt and also the aux belt behind it and maybe some idlers/tensioners as well if they feel a bit worn.

I plan to do this on my S4 sometime when the weather is warmer.

I think that the plan should be to check the condition of the crankshaft pulley while you are doing this work.

Cheers for that, I use Pipewerx to service my cars but he can’t get me in immediately so using another garage for the plugs, filter and brake fluid. I think I will leave the belt until Jeff is free so the other bits you have mentioned can all be checked for peace of mind

Hi guys getting this changed tomo with brake fluid, air filter and plugs as car on 58k so can’t see any of those have been changed yet apart from the brake fluid. Went for first drive in car last night as only just got it back from having all wheels refurbed. I’ll do a separate post on first impressions

A stage 2 tune would also change the supercharger belt. It may be worth paying more and just going for that perhaps? i don't know if places like MRC also change the aux belt and tensioners for a stage 2 tune. Silly question but would this theoretically count as a service i.e changing the supercharger belt?

My cars on 52k mileage so I will be looking at this in the coming year.

Thanks

Had my belt changed today was a bit fiddly as you meant to have Audi tool but my tech improvised and sorted it. I think if your going stage 2 then just bring it forward but I won’t be going stage anywhere for a while!

Audi tool? Long 16mm ring spanner to do the SC belt
