So - first 'full' tank, mostly my 70% motorway commute but including some rotten traffic (care of not leaving early enough) and a longer motorway trip (60 miles) and it returned 38.7 mpg. Admittedly I haven't ragged it but given it's still running in and the temps have been fairly low that's pretty good.

MMI is claiming 40.4 so not far off.

Going to try the next tank driving as I please to see what the difference is...

What are you guys getting? Not that you buy a petrol car to worry immensely about fuel consumption.

I tend not to look, picked my wife up from town last week, into town and then back home....14 mpg  to and from work mainy 30 & 40 zones for 10 min 27 mpg. On a longer run 30/40 zones 33.

14? Well done on that... worst I've had is 25 on a short journey. I need to try harder :tonguewink:

Long term average is 11.8l/100km but that is mainly in comfort mode on the daily commute of 70km round trup with 45km of motorway in the S5.
If in dynamic/manual.... well the short term goes through the roof to about 38l/100km :whistle2:

Wow, I’m not sure how I could live with that! Fun though :tongueclosed:

Not a bad run this morning, without trying but not over 70 mph

On a decent run I have managed to get just over 47mpg.

Still not as good the old dirty diesel, but I suppose I can be happy with 47mpg.

The quality of the fuel also makes a difference, when I picked the car up from Audi the filled it up with Morrison’s

On Monday i got 48 on a run from Sheffield to Scarborough from my 40 TFSI s-tronic, which is about the same as i would have got from my previous manual diesel quattro

Isn't the difference just the additives - you're paying for those? I generally get BP/Shell because of that.

Mines averaging about 38MPG in real life, though the MMI claimed 51MPG on a long run the other day.

Oh, and I haven't tried economy mode yet, I found that worse on fuel in my Q3. I also switch off start/stop as I'm not convinced it saves fuel unless you're sat in traffic for ages.

I wouldn't really bother with economy mode, it dulls the engine and gearchanges. Makes the car boring...
