Surprised to see nobody has posted any photos of the new 2019 Q3 yet. I'm thinking of getting shot of my 2017 S3 Saloon and ordering a 2019 Q3 in Vorsprung trim. Would be keen to know anybodies opinion if they have drove one and how it compares to the likes of the Tiguan R Line.

Had a few quotes on carwow and the dealers are wanting silly prices for them with monthlies in the region of £500-600 a month. Considering you can get a brand new Jag F Pace in the rather attractive R Sport Trim for roughly about £470 deposit and £470 a month it seems a bit like a no brainer??

Sammy.

Problem with the Vorsprung spec, across all models is the ridiculous price. And as you say, many other manufacturers offering top spec for less

Completely agree. For example the Tiguan R Line which is a direct competitor, fully equipped with the 2.0 BiTdi is only £41,500. (RRP Manufacturer website, probably cheaper on carwow).

Have you thought about the Cupra Ateca?
I almost went for one instead of the SQ5 but decided against a pcp at the time although I may look at one in the future!

I had a 2019 Q3 S-Line 35 TFSi as a courtesy car whilst my S3 was in for a Haldex pump change. It’s a lovely car and I’m considering changing to one when my S3 is due to go back. Drives really nicely, love the new interior and controls aswell.

I don’t have any photos to show that I have taken myself, but I have ordered a 2.0 TSI Quattro in turbo blue with the exact exterior scheme as shown in the 360 image in this article.

Was going to go white with a black pack, or maybe Daytona grey, but I thought I’d just go for a color that just lifts your spirits above the usual grey, silver and black stuff that is everywhere. It’s a bold one for ireland though!

New Q3 does look nice, the one in orange paint & the RS6 performance style alloys is stunning.

I had the chance of looking around one at my dealership. I simply would not part good money to have an interior with the amount of cheap looking plastic that's inside one. Better off paying less money for a Seat or a Skoda..

.............+ when you spec one up to a decent spec it's easy to go over £40,000 which brings the top bracket for what i still call road tax !!!.

Very nice. I’m thinking of changing my A3 Sportback for one soon. Going to book a test drive. How long is the delivery times?

I ordered mine at the end of January and it has a build date of Week 18. So I’ll be adding another 3 weeks onto that for transport and dealer configuration. That’ll be June then. The dealer gave me that build week update on Monday (it was previously week 21) but he reckons it won’t get built any earlier as demand is extremely high for this model.

I’ve found myself second guessing the colour choice this week. I probably have a week or so to make changes. But the range of alternatives, apart from whites, greys and black is not great.

I’d have gone for floret silver with the dark grey arch and bumper trims, but it’s not available to order on the s line, only the SE. Thats the case in Ireland anyway.

Yeah, noticed Floret wasn’t an option. That would have been nice with the black pack. Bizarre Floret is on the base model. I am a grey fan so Daytona for me. That’s a pretty long wait, but as you say demand is high.

Could always look for already built car to spec you are happy with

I'm going to wait a year or so, because the discounts may start to increase by then. Also hoping the black edition will be released by then aswell.

Fair enough. Q5 only recently got BE, so is usually about 12-18 months into model life

Good shout. Doubt there will be much if any discounts to be had apart from the standard £1400 Audi contribution.

Still got 1 year to go on my PCP so enough time to look and see what’s available. Don’t even know if I’m in positive or negative equity! Had the A3 two years and mileage quota was 10000 per year ( so 20000 by now ) and I’ve just hit 12000 so hopefully that will help!!

Yeah maybe, in which case I'll move away from Audi. It's getting a bit silly with some of their pricing now...

6% discount on the RRP including and added extras in ireland. Not too bad for a new model.

Drove one on Friday (s-line diesel). It's miles better than the old one and looks great in the metal. Feels roomier.

Still, I think I'm going to go for an X1 over it. Discounts are much better on the BMW and I preferred the driving position and auto box. I really didn't like the touchscreen on the Q3 - seems like a step backwards from the system in our A3 and can imagine it being distracting. I wish they'd kept the mmi dial as well as a touchscreen. I have the same issue with my dad's new A6. At least the Q3 has physical buttons for aircon.

I think the touchscreen only will alienate a lot of people...me included. Especially with my OCD. No idea why they can’t retain option of dial like BMW and Merc have.

However your 'ocd' has nothing to do with it, it is you only being fussy. If you really had ocd you wouldn't know you had. Believe you me no-one would wish true ocd on anyone, and I work with children who do...

Ok “fussy” in that finger marks on screens would drive me mad. Don’t take me literally on “ocd”, it is a term many of us on here use probably flippantly

Can see why they're so expensive now, they're all fitted with RS alloys!

Well, those press ones are. The base s line comes with s line alloys as standard. Those rotors and the Audi sport 5 spoke twin arms are upgrade RS ones. Neither of which are selectable in the UK but both of which are in Ireland. €1200 mind. The only image of the twin spokes I could find are on this one. I’ve changed my rotors to these as I like the look of them.

It’s not the finger marks with me, it’s that I didn’t find touchscreen easy to use when I had one in a Golf GTi PP.

BMW have I drive with rotary controller and touchscreen... shame they are making their cars so ugly these days!

Yes, but no problem, many males use the term. I just got on my soap box as I work in the area of mental health. I am sure you are not mentally ill just wanting to have everything correct.
I have stepped away from my soapbox now..

Hi folks, Ordered Black Q3 Sline in January after a great test drive. Build week 8. Car presently sitting at Emden waiting for shipping to Grimsby. It arrived there on 15th March and Audi advise me that it can sit there up to 15 working days. (Do they work a 5 or 7 day week ?) Do not expect delivery to me until mid April which will be about 8 weeks after build.
Hope this helps to give a rough timescale for those looking to place order.

Nice. What engine did you go for and extras? Had a test drive in the 1.5 petrol which seemed a bit sluggish. I am thinking on going for the 2.0 petrol Quattro if I get one!! The Vorsprung edition would be nice but not at the price Audi are charging for it!!!!

Being of an older generation and no longer a “boy racer”, I am getting the 1.5 which can still exceed the speed limit if that is wanted. 0-60 is not a lot slower either. Cost was another factor as I wanted most of the “toys” and object to paying any more tax. (in Scotland we are already taxed higher than any other part of the UK.) Only item not ordered is Driver Assistance Pack.
Main reason for going SUV is easier to get in and out- you will find that out in time! Been driving Audi for 35 years mostly with A4 Avant Sline (lower suspension).

Sounds very nice, other half as an A3 with that engine and it seems plenty fast enough when she is driving!

With you on the sitting higher point. I was so going to get a sports car when I bought my current car, treat to myself as I only really use it at weekends now. Ended up with an SQ5 and cant see me going for a low car again, much as I try and convince myself it would be OK.

As for getting taxed more in Scotland, you also get some things free which we dont (university, prescriptions...) so dont moan too much.... although if she was in charge of my country I would emigrate!

Might want to get in touch at some future point to see if my wife and myself can rent a room! Prescriptions is a great thing especially when you get older, but with all the freebies they will try to entice people with, expect that the only way is higher taxes. (Is that because age becomes cynical?)
Anyway, I am looking forward to eventual delivery of my Q3. Dealer has promised a short video when it is unloaded.

My updated build date, also from a January order, is not until week 17. So I’ll see that around week 25 then!

Mine was ordered 21st January. I did speak to the sales executive as I was really wanting the car at the end of May. (Due to holiday and not wanting a new car to be sitting at the airport). He suggested placing the order now and if I want they will keep the car until I ask for it. Hence build week 8. Yours seems to be a long way off if it is week 17 as mine was built some 4 weeks after the order placed. Or are you opting for a custom colour which can cause delay?

Totally agree on why you chose the 1.5 engine. My A3 is a 1.4 and the Q3 just felt a little underwhelmed and also being a heavier car. I’m passed the ‘boy racer’ stage being 47 & would prefer extra options to engine output. Might have to have another test drive of the 1.5!! I too live in Scotland but didn’t know that about the tax!!!

Last year and again this year the tax thresholds were not increased as in other parts of UK. But let us not get into politics here.
My current A4 has the 1794 petrol automatic and is the Avant. Quite heavy and no slouch at taking off from traffic lights etc. Smaller sized engines seem to have become more powerful as the years go by. So by that I found no difference between the A4 (12 plate) and the new Q3. There again I might be getting slower with age!

No, turbo blue. Loads of extras, but that surely makes no difference unless one of them is on back order.

Could just be that there is high demand for the new car. Believe the factory had a week long strike. Still cannot understand the delay unless the Audi Centre you deal with were slow in making the order. Look forward to you letting us know when you do receive the car.
