Has anyone got this fitted? I’m thinking about getting one but not sure if it’s worth it. Will it even make any difference. I can’t see it making anywhere near the 20bhp increase they claim.

I’d need to get it tuned in by MRC but would not be going to Banbury so would have to visit Dave Henderson at MRC Scotland.

Also Eventuri have a new design filter out so maybe worth getting this changed too, they claim between 5-10bhp claim with that.

Has anyone changed the spark plugs? I’ve heard NGK race plugs run good with the stage 2 maps.

Billy,
I ordered the Forge turbo inlet the week it released. Everything was already sold out by then. They put me on the backorder.

Apparently my item is due to be shipped out of the UK soon. Let's hope there are no further delays.

My mate already has this installed on a APR stage 2 RS3. His feedback was that the turbo seems to hit boost about 200rpm sooner. Feels more responsive overall.

Can't quantify the 20HP bump though. Not sure if anyone has done back to back tests to gather this data apart from the manufacturer themselves

I’m going stage 2 on Monday with Apr parts and tuning.
They are changing the plugs for me as I don’t like having standard plug on stage 2. I’m not sure what they will be using yet, give Ecotune a ring bud.

Yes it was them that said about the NGK race plugs

My elbow was dispatched yesterday, should be fitted next week and will upload some pictures. Service has been pretty poor from forge tbh, ordered the elbow and intake pipe about a month ago got an email 6 days later to say currently out of stock and would update me - had no updates and been chasing constantly since:gun2: make sure if you do order you call and check they have stock otherwise you’ll be in the same position as they have no stock alerts

Wonder how much the turbo pipe adds, might buy one and try it if no one is going to bring out a larger cast one for right hand drive cars

Quite a bit according to Will @vrs, all the stage one’s they’ve had with and without hardware have been 470-490 and quite a noticeable chunk less torque. Mine was the first they’ve fitted and dyno’d and the numbers are the strongest yet:salute:

Is this a true Stage 1, their Stage 1.5 or the Stage 2 though.

With downpipe and winter temps, the car can run a Stage 2 file.

There’s not much difference between 1/1.5 and 2, especially if you already have the hardware fitted when getting the “Stage 1”. I wouldn’t be expecting a whole lot more when you get that Stage 2 update.

From what I’ve seen, not sure the Forge elbow is doing all that much. Go Stage 2, get the figures, add the Forge elbow and get the figures, compare.

Stage 1 as quoted. Never claimed there was much difference between stage 1, 1.5 and 2 either; couldn’t source a Wagner in time for my appointment and will didn’t have one in stock, will be going back in the next couple of weeks to fit ic, catch can and go stage 2 - do we will have the figures to compare. As stated not really interested in APR’s mapping just needed something to hold me over until the summer when a turbo goes in. Was just numbers for those interested in a thread about the forge turbo elbow’s relevance as I don’t think many have it fitted. :salute:

Also agree with winter temps and dp could of ran two; as stated by Will, but for the sake of a few weeks and my own peace of mind/ocd made sense to leave it at one and flash two when an intercooler turns up. Life can change quickly, wouldn’t want to not for in IC for 6 months and run around on the map. (Unlikely to happen, but never know):respekt:

Added the Hardpipe and foam filter and I could feel the differance in spool and power straight away. Confirmed with all new PB's on DRAGY 1/4 mile and 100-200 kmh. Improved my 1/4mile by .2 sec and 100-200 .3 sec

Have the silicone elbow and TTE700 ring ready for next power mod :thumbs up:

A mate had custom code stage 2, downpipe, intercooler, forge elbow and intake pipe done this weekend gone. Did 540bhp / 550 ft lbs. Aparently highest figures they have seen on a stage 2 and confirmed the elbow definately makes a difference.

That's on 99 + NF race so around 104 octane.

Good strong figures though.

How many extra hp would 104 octane typically give?

Also separately, did you try cycling back through to dynamic mode before starting the car to cure the dreadful ticking sound on cold starts? It certainly works for me.

Yes Doc, works fine doing that. Although, I still catch it out now and again where it doesn't quieten. They've released a further map update that corrects it fully (apparently)

99-104 will be around 15-20hp according to APR's dyno charts.

Good to hear. I'll be watching with interest on here and Instagram how you get on down the dragstrip.

I know a lad who had the NF and APR 102 map file, it only made 6 bhp more than the 99 map on CLP's dyno just last week.

APR quote +10hp from 99-102 and +21hp from 99-104

NF race at full concentration should be somewhere around 103-104. It's really shi**y stuff though and will foul plugs, injectors, fuel pump etc if used too frequently. It has a very high MMT content to give it its energy.

You should instead run the NF race fuel concentrate which is a completely different mixture, has no MMT to boost its energy and is safe to run in every tank without fear of fouling anything.

I suspect JBS have specifically mapped for the NF race giving that comparable. APR's is a little more complicated as its using race fuel to 102/104 rather than 99+NF.

Yeah Apr won't recommend using any octane boosters to up the fuel rating

I am LHD and i have IE carbon intake which gave me 0.3 sec 100-200kmh

Ordered APR inlet from Awesome GTI so should be here this week.
I did power meassure now and its 504Hp/650Nm Revo stage 1 99ron fuel (wagenr evo 3 ic, dp milltek decat)

Now will see what times and figures will get with just APR inlet

I have installed APR inlet and yes i got more power.

I had 502.8hp/647Nm with stock inlet
And 7.1-7.2 sec 100-200kmh corrected

After Inlet 513Hp/653Nm
100-200kmh 7.0-7.1 but most of runs are 7.0 on 8 celzius so it will be better on sub 0

7.7 is 4th gear run

Really happy with part and here is chart beofre and after and i believe o more boost (stg2) i will see even bigger gains

APR is a nice piece of hardware but as we know is only for Left-Hand drive cars. Forge is our only option off the shelf for RHD cars

Yes i am aware just sharing my experience. On hardware They do good job

Yes, i understand you would be aware but making clear for others that might not be, as could be a costly mistake.
