Hi Everyone,
I am totally lost on this one !

So I have a 2005 A4 avant Sline B7 with a bose amp but front speakers are head unit powered, it was fitted with a symphony 2 not the plus version so it has ISO stereo wiring and all was fine before fitting the RNSE.
Changed symphony 2 for RNSE which was working perfectly in another A4, front speakers work but nothing from the rear.
I have searched the hell out of the problem for possible solutions but nothing makes sense...…
So I put the symphony 2 back in still no sound from the rear.
Tried a speaker test in vcds nothing from the rears.
Does anyone know where the bose amp pulls its +ve feeds from ?
Or any fuses that I may have overlooked ?

Any information will be greatly received !!

I'm confused too because the BOSE amp powers all the speakers, not just the rears. So if you bought a BOSE harness for the RNS-E then all 4 speakers should work. Even with incorrect coding or any other stupid mistakes.
 
Yes that is how I understood it even with previous A4's that I have had but this is definitely a Bose amp and sub and I have got the amp in the house now taking it to bits..... all of the iso plugs were plugged in the back of the symphony 2 and on the iso speaker plug only the middle 4 group have wires in them.....correct me if I am wrong but that is the front speaker connections.....
Looks to me that i have purchased a Friday afternoon vehicle !! Either that or it was the Thursday before Easter.

It is the speaker plug, 8 pin brown connector with 4 wires.

But none of it makes sense, does the 20 pin connector have L&R front and rear pins inserted?
FL, FR, RL, RR pins?
 
Yes both the quad lock and the factory iso (the brown plug) both only have 4 wires

No the 20 pin has RL RR and Line out GND pins in the factory loom with Tel mute, dsp radio on etc going to the respective pins...….. but all the FL FR RL RR etc are in the quad lock
 
Pulled the log out of it tonight...… and there is also a beeping coming from the speakers..... it does it on power up...….. beep beep beep x3 with a short pause in between the three beeps...…. thoughts ?

Tried my amp in another vehicle and it works perfectly....... Tried his amp in my car does not work...... possibly a coding issue ?
 
If your 20 pin connector only has RL+RR pins, then how can you have BOSE, you are missing the FR+FL pins to feed the line level to the amp.

All the evidence points to a non BOSE system I'm afraid.

And I would totally agree about the pins missing and bose.... I have contacted an Audi tech guy that I know and he claims that there is a semi bose version of the bose system that rare and he had never seen one and to be honest I never have seen one, so I had a thought to contact a parrot installer and enquire about a parrot car phone kit...... he gave me 3 options non bose..... full bose and semi bose.....but only for the 2005 and 2006 model years...... odd I know !!

I spent years working on Audis from an ICE point of view, I never came across semi-bose
 
I dont have access to Elsawin at the moment, but in Elsawin for each model it states the types of sound systems available in each vehicle section. It would be worth looking at the A4 B7 for clarification. But from my own experience semi-bose doesnt exist.
