Heads up on the Flow design splitter, it's for the pre facelift 8V. They are realising one for the FL soon. Great products too, very durable and functional compared to most out there.

thanks for that , I've just messaged them to check fitment on the hatch (3 door) as there is only reference to sport back.. do you know what the fitment is like? any piccies of your friends you could share?

my other dilemma would be textured?,carbon? or gloss black?

I dont have any pictures, but I can try and get you some, i know the finish on gloss black is good! i personally wouldn't go for carbon, unless your car is covered in it, ( wing mirrors etc..) i helped a friend fit one to a 135 and it fit so well it could have come from BMW itself, i know its not an audi, but gives you an indication of the quality of work... i'll have no hesitation ordering one for my car in the next coming weeks

Literally jack the car up on two jacks/stands then with someone who isn't blind, align it and drill through into your lip using ten-screws. I didn't use the bolts that came with it...

Easy as peas mate

Hello mate, can I ask what type of screws you used?

I have this splitter but am yet to fit it...I was surprised to see the amount of bolts supplied with it from Maxton (14 in total I think!).

What bolt did you use? As the 14 bolts supplied seems too long

Did you fit the splitter in the end? As I’m awaiting to install mine aswell but not sure on what bolt to use. As I’m scared it would hit something behind the bumper

Hello mate. Yeah mines on but for the life of me I can’t remeber what I used in the end! I’ll take a look tomorrow and get back to you.

Thanks, and did you have to remove the bumper to install it?

Thanks, and did you have to remove the bumper to install it?

So, I didn’t use the large bolts supplied with the splitter from Maxton, I used some T25 torx screws I had lying around coupled with the washers that they also give you.

I parked the front of the car up on some wedges I have (but jacked up on axle stands will be fine as well), then drilled pilot holes through the splitter and marked where each one met the the underside of the bumper. Drill here as well so that it’s easier to screw the T25’s in for the first time. I used ten in total - three on each corner and four across the front.

When installing the splitter make sure to start at the wheel arch on each side and work round to the centre, to ensure a flush finish on both sides.

No need to remove the bumper.

This is just how I did it, others may have a different method. Hope it helps either way.

Thank you very much, this has helped a lot.

Many Thanks

I like the maxton design splitter but don't want the logo in the middle. Any other alternatives for PFL? Reiger is too subtle.

I was worried the Reiger was going to be too subtle, seemed that way from pics. I'm happy with it though, the maxton seemed too much and I wasn't a fan of the logo. Of course though personal taste on how blaring you want it to be!

You'll have to make space for the bolt shafts by drilling or cutting reliefs in the plastic

I've had the Maxton and now the Rieger...much prefer the Rieger.

Thanks to a tree root, a huge speed bump, and Maxtons brittle plastic, I now have a Rieger after buying the Maxton a year or so ago. Personally I much prefer the Rieger as it tapers in round the corner under the headlights.

FYI the Maxton badge comes off easily with a little blast from a heat gun. Happy shopping!
