Mine only seems to be working now if I switch the heater off was never the case before. At first when I noticed 2 weeks ago Thought it might be the weather being cold but now it’s warmed up and back to normal it still doesn’t work with the heater on. Anyone else experienced this issue?

Yes I had made a post about it a few months ago. Same solution would be to switch off air con and it would work. I think I’ve realised what the problem is for me, I have a Blackvue front a rear Dashcam with a power cut off. I think when my camera goes into parking mode it drains the battery to the level I’ve set my cut off at. So when I next use the car the battery isn’t charged sufficiently enough to use stop start, (saying that it still doesn’t use it after long journeys).

My cars going in for a dodgy rear window next week so I’m hoping to turn off the dashcam parking mode to see if it restores the stop/start.

Sometimes when the temperature is up in the back it does not work. Check the temperature at the back and turn it down a bit

Mine is the same, however the start stop seems to be functioning as it should. To preserve the battery, at this time of year, I have turned off the coming home lights. My PMP is set to 12v by the way.

However, with start stop there are many senors it takes readings from that can prevent it from functioning and other are quite correct in that if the climate is set too high, or too low, then the start stop will not work..

Maybe this is a good thing. One of the most complained about features.

Things that’ll affect stop start.

1- if it’s too cold outside and the engine needs to warm up.
2- your DPF cycle if you have a diesel
3- if you have the air con on max to de mist your windscreen.
4 - least likely but if you have a fault in your system.

5-If the front and rear temps aren't on SYNC mode so it's having to work harder to create the different temperature zones.

6. It's been disabled with VCDS :)

Yes it might actually be the dashcam I have which has drained the power for the battery. Would charging the car battery help potentially ?

I wouldn’t personally charge the battery, driving it about should sort it I would imagine (depending on the length of your commute). Plus I think you may need a specific AGM car battery charger.

Btw thanks @Daggerit I completely forgot I had opened a thread very similar to this a few months back in which you mentioned the sync function. I was reading it through last night. I will give it a go in future as I can’t say I’ve ever driven around in sync, always 3 zone.

I can’t remember what voltage I’ve set my PMP. Il check it tomorrow morning when I get a chance. Thanks

The owners manual has a list of situations that highlight when the system disables stop/start.

You have a power magic pro fitted, if you have a Blackvue camera, if not you really should have something fitted so that the dashcams is powered down when the battery voltage drops to a certain level. How many miles do you drive each day?.

About 30 miles a day.

I do about five, twice a day, and my start stop is working ok. As I stated I also have a dashcam but the PMP seems to protect the battery, if indeed this it was it is. I would suggest you power off the cam and run the car for a week and then see what happens to eliminate that.
