Hi just wondering if any one else has or is having this issue. When I first had the car from new the fans were always running at what seemed high speed , then as the car got more mileage under its belt it stopped. However I booted it the other day while overtaking a lorry and the fans kicked in. When I stopped the fans slowed but kept running which I suppose is normal. However when I started the car the next morning the fans started immediately and ran all the way for 40 miles. Car left for a week, started up car ,fans kicked in . Have I got a problem do you think .

Could be , anyhow car going into local Audi dealership Saturday to be checked out . Worryingly they have another RS4 in with the same problem. Chris

Got an update on my problem. Got an Audi cam message from Stafford Audi today telling me that it was a faulty sensor that was the issue. Was reading 240° when the ambient temperature was 18° in the workshop no wonder the fans were starting as soon as the engine fired up. The other RS4 was also cured ,which had the same issue. Unsure whether it was the same sensor, find out Saturday when I collect my car. Thanks to Cosmic for the link information passed on to dealership , speeded up fix

Has anyone else had this problem? I have just picked up an RS5 and noticed straight away they even just nipping around the shop that's about 1.5 mles away the fans come on and stay on when engine is off for a long time...

Looks like quite a few RS4/5 owners have had this problem. Looks to be a matter of time before they maybe introduce a recall on the Thermostats..
