What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

Fitted a silencer delete pipe, sounds really good. Great cheap mod, loving the DSG farts now

I was thinking the same thing and didn't want a pipe so I ordered a vibrant bottle so time will tell. Do you have drone with that setup

What’s a vibrant bottle?
Not driven it much since I took the centre box out for the straight pipe.
Sounded really good from what I heard.

Lots of driving on Saturday, Oxford to North Wales and then up to Wigan, and then the same journey in reverse later that day.
Car was filthy this morning so I washed it and it rained within a few mins of drying it off.
It's now parked up for the week beading in the rain.

Full service including air, oil and fuel filter. Car is running silky smooth now.

New tyres all round and had my tracking done at the same time. Allignemnt was way out and the sub frame needed shifting quite a bit as it had seized up. Car feels like it's stuck to the ground now.

I also have some disc and pads waiting to go on but would like to upgrade to braided steel brake lines first. Anyone know the best place to get these and what brand to go for ?

Any help is appreciated !

Fitted P3 Gauge analogue boost sensor. The reading is about 3.5psi more than I was getting with the OBD plug.

Fitted chrome bonnet strut. Will get some more engine bay jewellery when I finally start the build thread I've accumulated loads of parts for :yahoo:

Fitted a LED reverse light.
Fed up of not being able to see behind me with that pathetic yellow bulb that was in it. I haven't tested it yet because it was daylight when it was fitted, and I've had a couple of drinks this afternoon and I won't be touching the car for a day or two.

Properly fitted my passenger side drl bulb, found the source and fixed the droning I could hear in the car, and found and fixed the rattle/buzzing in the engine bay, productive day

Had a busy Xmas and New year period so I've mostly been putting the miles on it, but today I returned home from a break in Yorkshire and had some new LED bulbs waiting for me.
DRL bulbs look much better and work without any problems or alerts on the dash.

Sidelight bulbs are not as good. They work fine, but continue to put a blown bulb warning on the dash if I leave the lights in 'Auto' mode.
Clearing the faults results in the fault returning straight away.
Putting them on manually doesn't flag up any faults, but if I then switch them back to Auto, they flag up the fault again. Very annoying.

Finally dropped the old girl on coilovers before the hols. Height adjustable Vogtlands. Surprised just how comfortable they are. Also went from 17" 7.5j et45 5spokes to the classic RS4s 18 8j et43. And a 4 wheel alignment after letting them settle a few days.

23rd oil change and 4th replacement timing belt completed today :) :)

New clutch and flywheel.

Got the car back and drivers door electrics had gone. Checked the door loom and in typical fashion, the power cable had snapped.

As the weather is mild, but about to become less so in the coming weeks, I gave the car a good wash down, polished it and then applied some HydroSilex Recharge.
I've been seeing good things about this product recently, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's very easy to apply so I'm now eagerly awaiting some rain to see if beads up as well as it should.

Which size did you order and has it been fitted yet?
I've been looking at this option myself and i'm not sure which size to buy, and if it makes a difference.

had front springs/top mounts changed last month, and afterwards the steering was pointing slightly to the left.
had wheel alignment done today at ats euromaster and its pointing straight again

so after the above tracking yesterday, parked the car in the residents car park.
woke up this morning to be told someone has swiped the bumper.

photo i was sent.

fuming, went to work without seeing it in person so imagined itd be a full bumper respray.
after work, i went to a lit car park and got to work.

after a quick clean, then clayed using bilthammer clay and ag rapid detailer. that got a lot of the smaller marks off, and removed a bit of the blue.

then used halfords rubbing compound. that got off the rest (its pretty good stuff). then polished with ag super resin, and a final going over with the rapid detailer. its as if it never happened. hopefully the other drivers car looks terrible.

Popped into a local exhaust shop and asked if they could do modified exhausts.
They instantly replied yes, asked for the keys and put it on the ramp before I had a chance to explain what I wanted. The technician returned, explained that the current system was in good condition and asked what I was hoping to achieve.
I explained that I wanted a bit of added noise but I didn't want it to drone. He said the easiest way would be to remove the resonator and put a straight through pipe in it's place, and assure me that the back box would prevent the droning noise from happening. I trusted him, and he delivered.
Here's a quick video I took after the car had cooled down so it could cold start. Excuse the quality and darkness, I got back after sunset.

Had a nice Pioneer head unit installed. Was going to go for it myself but for what the guys over at Western Car Radio charged me for the install it didn't seem worth me messing it up. Absolutely fantastic job they've done here.

Does the front of you Pioneer flip out or detach. Interested in the facia surround as mine has two parts (as shown four posts up) which doesn’t look great but is needed as the front of the AVH X models needs to flip out to revel the SD slot.

Is that a Z model?

Did double DIN conversion and fitted the Pioneer SPH-DA130DAB CarPlay head unit courtesy of @NHN. Top man and an impeccable professional. Couldn’t recommend him enough!

Same with the stereo. It was worth the additional hassle (Connects2 harness/fascia etc.) to get this fitted as the sound quality and the ability to customise sound is amazing. Highly recommended!

I have the same wheel. Does the nav button on the right do anything on yours and also the up and down button on the left if you press it in?
since i dont have the rns-e plus installed anymore the nav button doesnt actually do something.i m guessing if you have navigation it should though...for the life of me i cant remember about the up-down button(not the scroller) does.i ll check it later and let you know

Cheers. Yeah so on mine the nav button does nothing as if it isn’t connected and on the left up and down scroller that works but if I press it in then it does nothing whereas if I press the volume one in then it mutes the radio.
