hey guys, just wondering how many kilometers everyone is getting in a full tank. Mine seems to be eating petrol like nothing and just wanted to compare. I have an Audi S3 8L

Kind regards.

I was getting about 23mpg with 98/99 Ron fuel- I never once filled the tank up, it seemed pretty pointless as petrol goes off and it spent 80% of the time on axle stands :D

Yeah im getting roughly 350kms and the car is stock, maybe need to change spark plugs and air filter and stuff to help the engine out.

Thank you!

Have no fault codes and ill check the EGT sensor now

Thank you guys

Depends how you drive it if you screw the **** off it then it will drink the fuel I couldn’t tell you I’ve not put fuel in mine for over 2 years now

You will need to log the egt sensor values they may be null or 999 both of which sends loads of extra fuel in.

Stuart< noob question how do you log EGT sensor values? can it be done with VCDS and what measuring block is used?

I use me7logger but someone else will advice what to log using vcds. Or you can even log it with android torque pro.

Hmm well I will test in s few days, it's in my list. But I may have picked those to show someone.

Come to think of it when someone logged with torque pro the egt came up null and they discovered it was not plugged in, I can't remember if they logged again after?

I'm getting 400 miles to a tank - that's 640km (55l tank I guess), which isn't too bad, and a hell of a lot better than you guys. I checked my trip that hasn't been reset in a long time, and I was averaging 40+mpg, which rings true with the above numbers. I don't hammer the car all the time, but use the accelerator when required. This is my daily commute car, and I am stuck on M50 motorway (Dublin) many mornings going nowhere, so I would love to see my stats if I actually got to drive at a reasonable speed to and from work.

Yeah I tried it the other day, you can create your own PIDs I wonder if someone has done that? I wonder if 'odb eleven' has better access?

40mpg in an S3 ? Blimey I thought the 31mpg I had in my TT before touching anything was good.

My trip computer shows around 20 mpg, but then again I am only averaging around 700 miles every year.....and believe it or not I do use the car every week - mostly small journey's....and a lot where the car has not even fully warned up on each journey!
The rare occasions it has seen the motorway (Gatwick airport/Brighton trips) the mph has significantly improved.

I have worked out that overall it would probably cost me less calling a cab over a year instead of having the car, but where's the fun in that!
I use the Asda unleaded - the cheap stuff with the occasional half bottle of redex injection cleaner thrown in every 6 months.
