hi

need some help my car is in with audi Harold hill and i asked them to check the gear box level and they said they cant they have to drain all the oil out and then refill .. this sounds like bs to me

anyone know if this true

I smell BS. I'm getting my gearbox service done in a week or so and was told to have the car there as early as possible as the car has to cool so they can get an accurate oil level. SO they must be able to check some how.

Happy to be proved wrong though.

Spoke to audi UK technical and they also said this is bs bunch of jokers no wonder people hate main dealers buch of ****

Audi came back to me and i have an intermittent fault in the gearbox ecu which will require a new mech unit and clutch pack 5 grand to replace ...bunch of jokers

What did I miss??

You just wanted the gearbox oil level looked at and now a 5k bill?

What faults have you got that you wanted the oil level looked at?

sometime when its cold i get a little thump when it comes to a stop .. when it drops from 2nd down to first but it only does it when the car is cold so i thought it might be a low atp level

OK. not heard of that fault, hopefully somebody else on here has. Might be time to get a warranty on the box and then just in case after 4 months or so it turns nasty you are covered.
