Hi guys me again,
I’ve recently had my mechatronic unit repaired by Audi themselves, and it’s come back with 99% of the problems fixed but it’s still not 100%, wondering if there’s anything else I can look at? It’s still sometimes hesitant to engage the right gear if you don’t come to a complete stop and will lurch forward at junctions but only sometimes and nowhere near as bad as it was before, and I noticed yesterday when sitting in the car with it running in park that it seems to try and grab a gear every so often? Can hear the revs dip and feel a tiny little surge from the transmission (like you would if you let the clutch up too quick on a manual) it’s only tiny but it’s definitely there. I’m reluctant to take it back to Audi because I know the next step if this didn’t fix the problems was a new box and my warranty ran out this week now. Any ideas? Otherwise I think I’m gonna have to trade her in But I don’t want to as I love the thing! Wish I’d bought a manual now!

Sounds like it could be the clutches. Do Audi not give a warranty on their repair work that you could claim on has it didn’t resolve the issue?

I would add if you made Audi aware of the problem before your warranty run out. Then THAT specific problem is still under warranty till it's 100%

Ill be phoning the garage I bought it from tomorrow to see what they have to say, fingers crossed, but that tune does sound interesting if it does address the little niggles! Cheers guys

Update, just spoke to the garage, they’ve said it’s normal and it’s the adaptations resetting to my driving style, will do some strange things for around 4-6 weeks depending on how much the car is used? It does sound possible as i took it for a good drive yesterday and already seemed a bit better?

Hasn’t got much better, I spoke to someone who had a similar issue to mine and said a clutch reset was done to his car and sorted the issue? Wouldn’t this have been done with the mech unit repair though? If not does anyone know if you can do it yourself? I have a VCDS

Hmmmm that sounds complicated, I dunno how brave I feel, is it possible that I could do more harm? I’m new to all this stuff and not very brave lol
