Do all Audi A3 8V have heated seats as standard or is this an optional extra? I see some Audi A3 8V have the heated seat buttons and some don't but do the all actually have the equipment in the seats to heat them?

Only standard on the S3

Don't know about ur second question but I doubt it...?

Ok it makes sense on the S3 since it's a higher spec, I read somewhere that the A3 8V had the equipment to heat the seats already and that it just needs sorted on the climate control where you see a space on the left and right side is where the heated seat buttons go and then I guess programmed into the MMI system. I can't confirm it's true that's why I'm here to see if anyone knows about this.

  • Do all Audi A3 8V have heated seats as standard or is this an optional extra? Optional extra on A3 (£300) or part of the C&S pack (£795).
  • A3 8V have the heated seat buttons and some don't but do the all actually have the equipment in the seats to heat them? No, I believe it's not a simple retrofit either A3's with heated seats will have had one of the options above.

Correct.

Not standard and if no buttons no seats with heating elements.

Ok cheers, do you know what it costs to get them fitted at a garage?

I did this retrofit to my A3 8P from 2008 but my A3 8V Facelift had it from start. I know it will require new seats, climate control, cabling and coding. The retrofit is quite easy but buying new seats can be quite expensive and time consuming.

I would find a car that already has the heated seats if this is a must have.

Heated seats are a bliss to have. There are no heating elements in seats in cars without heated seats option.

One of the only features my a3 sline doesn't have is heated seats :sob: it's got climate control, auto wipers and auto lights.

I believe retro-fitting is a bit of a pain, as others have said it requires the seats with the elements, the cabling, coding and tying in with your interior as well. Would easily expect this to be over a £1k just based on trying to find the seats.

stripping the seats is time consuming, iirc over 40 metal loops to be removed just on the back rest alone (i had to get side re-stitched after airbag had gone off).
