So my a5 is a PFL 3.0 so exit either side. Gone to my exhaust place today to get booked in for the back box deletes.

I first got dissapointed when i saw ive the long version of the downpipe. Which means its going to be a pain to do. and probably just end leaving the gutted dpf with the back box deletes and not be happy with the sound.

The second kick in the nads was looking at tips to choose. I had it in my head i want twins either side maybe 3.5" -4" he doesnt want to cut my diffuser as he reckons it wont look right. Told me to get a different diffuser or persuade me to single exits.

I went ahead and booked in for next week as i think a single slash cuts are slightly growing on me.
So the point of this thread is to see if anyone has had there diffuser cut slightly and how it looked. Probably no one has done it, sure you just got a new diffuser. But worth a ask

Im in this situation with my FL 3.0
I want 2 twins but the only diffusers that allow for it are for the sline rear bumper.

Im planning on getting downpipe etc done first then get a sline bumper and diffuser

Try aliexpress i found lots of fl ones for slines. Mabe pre fl too?

Reviews are good on them too

If i wasnt a impatient sod id wait and have a totally different diffuser made up from fiiberglass.
Trouble is i am a impatient get and cant wait. So will try and work with what ive got (booked in nex tues) i was just hoping maybe someone out there had slightly modified there cut outs and it looked ok

Tom,

I’m after someone with a stock FL diffuser and 3.0 stock exhaust.

I have an S5 rear diffuser and milltek quad exit exhaust but I want to revert to stock.

You interested in a part ex?

Btw s line bumper doesn’t allow quad exhaust only twin.

I now see you don’t gave an s line rear diffuser which is what I’m after.

@V6Tom back box deletes got done today. I didnt end up touching the diffuser opted for 4inch round each side.
When i find a diffuser im happy with he will take the tips off and put me quads and the diffuser on

My exhaust guy told me he didnt want to fit the 4" tips i wanted, said it would look stupid ...
Guess who doesnt care what he thinks and got the 4s any way :p
it's your car, he can check if they fit and if they do get it, if they dont, get the sand paper out and trim the difuser slightly, it is your car afterall not his :)

worth noting the awe exhaust comes in a 4" option too which many do pick.
Pics for reference

Yeah seen youre whip @Meemo its a beaut.... However i think you may have misunderstood what i meant.

I habe a pfl a5 thats non sline (the rear diffuser is different has curves in it and two small round cutouts)

The guy wasnt questioning choice of tips. He didnt want to ruin the diffuser by cutting some out for the quads i wanted.

Anyway i think he was probably right and ive just got dual 4.5 inch for now (if you see a pic of my diffuser all this will make sense)

ah got ya!
Could you have a look for a spare on ebay of your current one, hopefully find a nice cheap one, or put a wanted add on here.. then you could trim it and sand the edge smooth for the tips, and if it doesnt work out is only a cheap second one to try with?

yeah looking at it, would look S**TE lol
other than aftermarket am out of suggestions :)

Yep on the search for a new diffuser. But finding one non sline is a pain in the rear

All the effort it will take its probably easyer to just buy a sline bumper as its a straight swap

to be honest mate id just rather find a diffuser im happy with. beats finding a decent bumper getting it sprayed, then getting sensors sprayed, then possibly have to alter that diffuser.

back box deletes got done and just went with 4.5inch dual exit on this standard diffuser. Its not too bad. downpipe is being done next week so atleast ill be happy with the sound and not be in as much as a rush to get the tips/diffuser changed
