Drivers seat not heating. S3.

A couple of years ago my drivers heated seat stopped heating! I got it checked out by a local indy garage and they told me the heating elements have gone.

As were going into the winter months now, whats my best option to get this fixed?

Apparently the seat is a nightmare to strip and put back together, not to mention the cost of the new heating elements from Audi. I've done some searches and S3 8P leather seats do not seem easy to come by.

So I think this isn't going to be a cheap or easy fix. Possibly why I have been putting it off for so long!

Have fun stripping them, they're a nightmare on a 5dr let alone a 3dr.

Now here is a suggestion way up the price off a new element from Audi then the time to strip it down fit, test and rebuild , to buying 2 second hand ones , might be cheaper depending on the seats you have and how ready available they are

But then how would you know if the second hand seat has a working element .. ?

Well i guess there is a couple off things you could do, pay through paypal, pay on collection when you go view and try them out, i thought it simple as i drove to Preston to get my interior and try it all out , sometimes these are the things you need to do to get what u want if uou want them that bad

Yeah I think my next step is to give Audi a ring just to see how much the elements actually cost. Already tried looking for second hand seats and I only found 1 online and it was in terrible shape for £150. Wouldnt give £50 for it in the condition it was in.

They’re around £80 per element.

You don’t get a 2 year guarantee with used parts though.

Another suggestion , unplug the seat take the pins out 1 at a time clean and put back in ,try and see if that helps if not maybe @Darren92 could explain where you could go in Vcd's and check the live data as he knows more about that stuff than i do , i would think it will be in Mod 8 HVAC
