Audi s3 8l sent the window down and then all of a sudden as i tried to close it the window went all the way down and won't close, ive got the door card off and with the ignition on and not pressing the button at all the motor os clicking and the metal bit is so hot i can't touch it, clips look ok on window, now and then the window button will work and it goes up a cm then straight back down again, is there a way to get my window closed at all?

Its ok i got it up, getting it booked in to do the clips

Where abouts are you?
No members help? I’ve just done ours

Sounds like the regulator, just done both sides on mine, fairly easy to do yourself with the right bits

Im in sunderland, ive managed to get it closed, i removed the motor and pushed the window up and replaced the motor, its still not working though, not sure if its the clips or motor, although i tried the motor when i removed it and it seems to be working fine and the clips look ok? It must know im thinking of selling as the arm rest has stopped working aswell lol

Ive bookes it in to be done, local audi specialist done loads of them, i don't have the time or anywhere to put it while i do it so just pay someone ekse to do it, thw ****** arm rest has stopped working aswell, but i can sort that myself, i mention selling and within two days two things go wrong lol

Getting repaired today, £211 needs a new regulator, unfortunately i don't have a garage to do this myself so had to have someone else do it, never mind least its done, just typical that someething goes wrong as im getting it ready to sell lol

That's not too bad, a genuine regulator is £103 to buy and about an hours labour so sounds about right.

Yeah I'm happy with the price and piece of mind its done properly, spent a few quid over the last two years of ownership keeping it right which im happy to do as the plan was it was a keeper but i stupidly test drove a b8 a4 3.0 tdi quattro avant and now i want one of those, and as a cross country and trail runner it would suit me more, just hope nowt else crops up before i decide to put it up for sale or not lol

Alll sorted, whole new regulator in rather than the kit, charged me £200 not bad considering the regulator was £115, for sale add coming soon as i need an estate car:frown new:
