Facelift Google Earth not working?

Noticed the last two days in a row, sat nav is fine until it does the initialising/loading bit for google earth (little google icon and loading bar at bottom of MMI) and once it hits 100%, it just stops and shows a Google Earth splash page and never shows the map.

Anyone else having this problem?

I had this today but I thought it was because I didnt have any signal, I havent tested it again since

It’s a problem with the MATRIX, are going to take the red or blue pill.

The Audi Connect team have been made aware apparently, so will probably be fixed next year :)

I used the MMI Google maps in my Q5 this morning for a four hour trip, with no problems....though not sure of this is the same as a Google Earth?

Mine went down earlier , took out the MMI as well . Had to restart that all works now bar the google earth nav just keeps loading

Thought it was just me. Wouldn't work yesterday or today. Ended up switching off the data and back on again, which got it working again, although the resolution seems lower when zoomed in.

Can't say I ever use the Google map view on the MMI... Don't really see any added benefit. I'll see tomorrow though if it's working anyway out of curiosity.

With the Audi website ********, and not being able to send destinations from Google maps to cars....now this...

Things ain't going too well it seems.

Yeah mine seemed to have been down all day, loads for ages then nothing. Happened a few times in the last year hopefully they get it sorted.

Mine went down thursdsy on the M25 on my way back from Heathrow...::I am still going round looking for the exit

Personally I use the normal navigation screens rather than Google Earth which seem to be working OK. I can send a destination from Google Maps from my smartphone or tablet but not from my PC. I had a phone call yesterday from Audi Customer Services to say that it may be a couple of months before the connection from a PC is working again. Perhaps they should have got the new software working and tested before they took away the existing.

How do you even send a location from a phone? Assuming we are talking about the same thing, the "send to phone" button

Yup, had it since Wednesday when I drive to Inverness and back. Yesterday the screen crashed / went blank even in standard mode.

Mine was working though it did look pretty rubbish (I don't usually use it so can't compare for sure, but I imagine its meant to be better than that!).
I didn't have to do anything to get it to work.
 
And it's stopped again. Tried turning data off and on, but no joy.
 
I think it's a matter of waiting for Audi in Germany to get the new software sorted. Perhaps they will pay us some compensation for the lack of it?
 
Just went out to the shops and the google earth just kicked back into life
 
“Good afternoon, Sam. We are aware that there is currently an issue with the Connect Services. This has been raised to the relevant team to be fixed. Unfortunately, we do not have a resolution timescale. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
 
Mine isn't working either but I don't get the splash page, (it's never shown the splash page tho) it says google earth is activated and has the google logo on the map but is just displaying the standard map.

If it’s like mine, the logo will have a small bar next to it showing it partially loaded

Mine working again today but ended up back at the airport

Is anyone else still having problems? Mine was still down this morning, haven't checked this evening. Booked into Audi for next week, but I don't want a needless autopsy if the issue is affecting everyone with the MMI / Google Earth system. Cheers
 
Mine was OK earlier when I flicked it on just to check.

I'm surprised how many people use the view tbh.
 
(on SQ5) Mine was working first thing Sunday 2nd September, then didn't work from around 13:00 UK time. Came back around 20:00 the same day, I'd like to agree the resolution was lower after it came back, but not sure...

Yep, mine went down twice and I switched it off. First time I was near home so it was ok, second time when I was on some A roads. Had to pull over to the side of the road. Quite distracting actually, dangerous how attached we are to these nav's now....
 
Not checked mine this week as I’m using the wife’s car to even up mileage but will look tonight
