Im after a little help with a very intermittent error I'm having....
What's happening is sometimes when the stop/start system activates ( engine switches off ) the glow plug light flashes and continues to flash when engine starts back up but drives perfectly ...... when stop start activates again the light goes off... strange !!
I'm getting a code on the Torque App of P0121 ( throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A Circuit range/performance problem )

Just to add this is a 2011 2.0tdi ( 140)

This usually means your brake switch is malfunctioning. Would be amazing if you could provoke the car into flashing the glowplug light and have someone see if your brake lights work.

Change your throttle pedal.

Wow... that sounds pretty dangerous... I'll sure as hell try to see if the brake lights work next time I notice it

Change your throttle pedal.
Yeah although the error code does point to this I'm not really convinced it's at fault... all seems to work perfectly and after a quick Google I've heard of this expensive part being changed and still the fault occurs

My 201o handbook states "if it flashes while the vehicle is moving, there is a fault in the engine management system". As your code reader is pointing to a specific sensor (no other engine fault would trigger that particular sensor error) you appear to have pinpointed the problem.

Try a second hand one.

The TPS is located in the pedal.

These cars are "fly by wire" so I assume there is a throttle position sensor (TPS) on the pedal with a second on the actual throttle body. They then communicate via the ECU. Sometimes generic error code readers will not pinpoint which of the two is faulty. These sensors can be expensive and so you might want to double-check which is faulty by first using Audi specific error code software i.e VCDS.

Thanks guys... so it's safe to say that one of the 2 sensors is playing up then.... I know a head of business at an Audi dealership so I will speak to him nicely and try to get it plugged in to the correct audi diagnostics.
I have no issues buying parts needed but I just got rid of a BMW that was a bit of a moneypit so I wanted to avoid the same thing.
Is this fault likely to get worse or cause any issues other than a flashing light ??

Ok just an update on this.... took it to Audi for lots of work doing ( major service,cambelt/waterpump, wheel alignment and other little bits ), however with my specific issue I was asking on here I was told that I was getting a " G39 throttle valve fault" and required cleaning and retesting... had this done and the car runs like new.... I didn't realise just how rough my stop/start system was running.... all silky smooth now though :)
