just noticed the glovebox light is a normal halogen type bulb.
Every bulb in the car interior is leds apart from that one. I bet it’s part of a lighting pack or something so they can charge you more.
Anyone know what size bulb is in there as it’s annoying me now I have noticed it. Ocd kicking in again.

Dome and boot light will also be halogen. The 'Lighting Package' gives you LED glove, boot, dome, puddle, footwell and sill lights. Also, another point about Audi cheapness, I have the B&O sound system in my saloon and there are two speaker meshes on the rear shelf as if there are two subwoofers present. A quick look in the boot shows that there's only one subwoofer and that one of the meshes is fake :) The nearside wing mirror dip when in reverse seems rather cheap or at very least an after thought by Audi
 
Dome lights/reading lights front and back and I’m sure the boot light is all led. The footlights and kick plates are led. Even the Audi logo on the puddle lights are led. Think it’s just the glovebox that’s not.
 
Just had a check of mine, as I’ve never really opened glove box... and yeah, even LED pack has different bulb in there. Could be a warm LED tho as didn’t check the bulb. Rest of lights are the white/blue bright bulbs, glove box is the yellower colour

I’m almost certain it’s a regular bulb, was the same on my old A1 with the LED lighting pack.

Looks like the lighting pack is standard on the fl or at least mine. Just checked the configurator and led interior pack is standard on s3. So someone at the factory needs sacked and left my led out the glove box :p

As far as I’m aware, regardless if you paid for it. FL and PFL A3/A1 the glovebox light has always been halogen for some inane reason.

OCD!! To be fair most folk probably wouldn’t have noticed. Probably first time I opened the glovebox and the yellowy bulb was staring at my face :)

Bit anal this glove box bulb type mate and to be honest a gls bulb if it is that costs more to make than a led one now so not cheap

There's far more Audi cheapness in there cars now than say from 3/4 years but I'll not diverse lol

Certainly noticed this from when I took our 8P in for a service and was given a new 17 A3 Sport - little things like the door hinges, bonnet release, torsion beam suspension, floor hinge accelerator pedal amongst others...
 
For those who have changed the bulbs is it a glovebox out job ?
I think I have found the solution to my led bulb issue sitting in my glovebox :p
These look about the same size and will hopefully colour match to the rest of the cars lights.
