Has anyone in central Scotland managed to get an Audi dealer to price match an independent garage price for a service? Some appear to not have signed up to the initiative and others are asking for written quotes with itemised part numbers from the independent. With the latter, surely the independent specialists know the game and wouldn't be keen on wasting their time sending a detailed quote? Asking for a colleague. He has the A4 1.4 and was quoted over £400 for an oil change at one dealer......looks like I'll need to look out the lube when my S4 needs a service!

That’s ridiculous for a 1.4 petrol. On my 3.0 tdi quattro I payed £380 for a 20k service and inspection with Audi. Plus they gave me a free 1 litre top up oil bottle. I thought all the prices were standard no matter what Audi garage you take it to. Swear I’ve the prices on the Audi website.

Considering my service plan is £9.56 per month for three years your one service is more than all if mine will work out to be. Absolute rip off from whoever quoted your colleague...

Just got a quote for my S4, it was £258 from Audi and £175 from an independent for the first oil change. Audi wasn’t willing to budge so guess which one I’ll be using?

What, you think a complementary cup of coffee, someone guiding you around the car park when you arrive and a quick video of your car on the ramp isn't worth an extra £83!!

No but its main dealers hourly rates are far higher, upwards of £200 per hour these days is easily possible, you pay your money you make your choice. My daughter won't have her Ibiza serviced at a main dealer as they are around £100 more expensive than a Seat independent...

Hi, Cheers for that. Unfortunately his car( and mine) is a lease car, so main dealer services are a stipulation of the agreement. It was Stirling Audi that quoted him £460 for a first service......

Yea there murder and unfortunately all the central dealers are the same company I think Dundee is desperate and will do deals if it’s not Dundee it’s perth.

Right so Glasgow Edinburgh Stirling and Ayr are all same group so I’d play Stirling against Perth and Dundee

He got Dundee down to £230. Still pricey, but better than what he was initialy quoted. Perth weren't interested in matching Dundee or any other audi dealer.

I ran this past my dealer after he quoted £351 for my 2nd service @ 19k miles including pollen filter and "inspection" service. After casually mentioning getting my local garage to do the work with Audi parts they said they would see if they could apply any discounts.
Amounted to an additional 15% off the above taking it under £300 which i am happy enough with .

I checked with my local steeler (Highland Audi) and they charge £187 (incl vat) for the first service for my 2.0 TFSI (190). Pheeeew!
