I bought my 2009 Black Edition A3 a couple of months ago and the previous owner had the alloys refurbished before the sale. They were a dark titanium colour..but definitely darker than the original Black Edition Colour. After more than a few washes the wheels are pretty much black in colour which is weird. I also have a few kerb marks on the drivers side which shows really horribly. silver against black so massive contrast. Does anyone know where I can get the wheels refurbished from with the original Black Edition Titanium colour and finish, Would powder coating them give the same finish as when the wheels were new?

Most large towns will have companies that can refurb alloys.
Do a search online for your area.

As member above says use the magic google thingy, as for getting them the correct colour find out the colour code for the Black edition wheels and ask refurbers to do that colour , i personally i get my alloys powdercoated all the time just to protect alloy edges a bit. But you can buy rim protectors which are meant to Sh*t hot check that google thingy again for them

To get them back to diamond cut would cost more than they are worth i suspect. If you want to go down that route go back to Audi. they gave me the best quote for std finish, it might seem odd but don't forget every car on every Audi forecourt has had the wheels done so they are getting thousands done a week i suspect. ...and they lend you a car while they do them.

Are these a diamond cut finish? I phoned a few powder coaters in Birmingham and none of them have the exact colour :(

No they are earlier models so no diamond cut.

This is how they atm. Its only this wheel that has major scuffs the rest of the alloys are pretty mint. Taken it to a few places but they cant match the existing colour

To be honest mate are they genuine Audi alloys, why not get in contact with the seller an ask him where he got the alloys refurbed and if not to far away take it along and if its going to be to expensive to go there consider getting all 4 done another colour to suit your car

don't know where you live but most members use Kowalski Details in nearby. Nate is the man when it comes to wheels.

A place near me will refurb and colour change alloys for £60 each (18" rims).
Hoping to get mine refurbished next month.

Hi @SA95 - You have the Le Mans alloys (from you pic above) - these didn’t have a diamond cut finish. The Rotors have the diamond cut ‘silver’ edges.

Don’t take them to an Audi dealer for refurbishment - they’ll pass them on to a local repair partner but charge you heaps (always worth enquiringly however).

I believe the Le Mans colour is silver L1H7 but to be honest it’s not very nice, especially against a black car.

If you have a local specialist (https://www.citywheelrefurbishment.co.uk/) or even @N8 as mentioned above, they’ll have a samples of alternative colours for you to select. An anthracite, graphite or gunmetal grey colour works well on these alloys.

As you asked about Birmingham, JP Alloys in Cannock have a very good reputation. It maybe that they cannot do the exact code but have their own code which is very similar to what you want.

Thanks for the suggestions. Booked in with a local Birmingham place called Sweeney and Sherlock...one wheel at time with the spare tyre sort of thing. Will report back after they all done :icon thumright:

I’d be very interested how you get on with this company as I live in the area. I had a wheel done at Prestige up by the Fort and I could not get the wheel back on the car. They had powder coated the hole in the centre of the wheel and so I had to carefully remove the coating. Another company over in Leamington did the same and put the refurbished wheels back on the car. We then could not get them off again!!!
I need a set doing on my Mk 4 GTI. I would be looking for a top notch job where they can match the colour to the silver on the OEM plastic wheel centres.

Here they are. Official Audi Anthricite colour with a Satin laquear. Fair to say im pretty chuffed with how they've come out. Cant tell they were ever kerbed and the finish is bang on. Excellent price and service too would highly recommend.
