What have you done to your 8V today?

Took some time to do a thing to my own vehicle today, after not being driven for nearly 3 weeks... Audi OEM 5 Wing Arm alloys off and Revo RV019's on. Hard to photograph these wheels with an iPhone.

Like these - very nice. Simple classy design, easy to clean and a keen price too. Think they are manufactured for Revo by Rimstock, so they should be decent quality - good to buy British as well!

@DJAlix - do you know if they’ll take an OEM Audi centre cap? And if you get a chance to post some more/better pix :whistle2: I’d be keen to see...
I got the alloys + rubber for less then the cost of the RRP on the alloys alone :) Will try and get some photos with a proper camera.

Not sure on the centre caps. Its something I have priced up but not ordered as yet as I wanted to measure and be sure.

You’ve pulled some serious trade strings to get a deal that good mate - At c.250 notes per corner including premium rubber that’s a cracking buy :salute:. Would you be so kind as to let us know about the OEM centre caps once you’ve measured up? Been eying up these very wheels in gloss black for my Daytona Grey black edition, but the centre cap thing for a OEM+ look is a key consideration for me. My inner show off also likes them in matt bronze, but not sure I’m that brave!

Assume you went for tyre size 235/35?

The 8.5j width and et45 offset looks to work really well. I’m guessing no spacers? Sorry for all the questions - you posted this just as I’m researching!

Cheers for sharing.

Fair enough @jassyo06 - differences in opinion make this forum such a great read :hi:And to be fair, the 5 spoke wing arms are a VERY nice wheel, which compliment a Voodoo Blue saloon particularly well :sunglasses:

Will let you know about the centre caps. I need to have the wheels off next week in order to fit TPMS sensors so will try an OEM cap. Rubber is 245/35/19 and loving the Michelins. Had Conti's on my last Saloon and hated them. My FL had P-Zeros from delivery and they were not much better. The PS4's have changed the car. The grip is amazing, road noise less and the ride is sooooooo much better.

On holibobs in Costa Del Norfolk this week, and took a drive across to Wells-Next-The-Sea yesterday. Gave me a chance to really enjoy manual flappy paddle gearbox in sports mode. Enjoyed downshifting a bit too early a lot :sunglasses:.

Great beach and weather at Wells, and some good wind, so a good chance to teach my wee lad how to fly a twin line parafoil power kite. It nearly pulled his little arms out of their sockets, but he didn’t grumble once, persevered and got the hang of it. Good day, good memories, with the S3 as part of the family :grinning:

(image is a screenshot from a video, so don’t expect it to play).

Exhaust resonator delete fitted, and a much needed wash

As suspected it might be a little too much with the exhaust valves open.

So to close the valves is it a case of putting car in comfort with ignition on, using ODBeleven to close them? then will they be back to normal so they open in dynamic?

Wimp , keep them open haha. I have mine open all the time apart from on motorways. Shutting them just gets rid of some of the deeper tones which helps for long journeys. Without res delete they can be open 100% of time.

Looking really good tho!

So to get them to return to normal operation, is it like I said in my post?

This is my dilemma - they could look great against Daytona. Found this in an old thread. Looks to be lowered on eibach springs or similar, and think it’s a photoshop job, but...

The white / bronze isn't a good contrast but Daytona Grey is dark enough to carry it off I think. I'd go for it if it were my car.

Today I finally put my personal plate on my car. :)

Its normally polished with Autoglym super resin polish & UHD wax, but today was just washed in Gyeon q2m foam & Meguiars gold class shampoo, Meguiars endurance on the tyres.

Going to get it detailed before winter I think.

Nothing too exciting, finally got round to taking the wheel off I had refurbished the other month so I could coat it with Gtechniq C5, what a polava!

Took it outside to clean it, 5 minutes later it hammered it down. Waited for rain to stop then washed, iron x'd, washed again, gave it a going over with Gtechniq W7, washed again then it was inside for Gtechniq Panel Wipe and C5. Now to leave to cure and put back on tomorrow (weather permitting) and hopefully give the car a quick going over.

My missus just looked at me and called me weird when I just belly laughed at this! Having seen Tom’s photoshopage I’m now convinced....that this isn’t the right way to go. Matt bronze on Daytona can look ruddy awesome, but this is a bit too bling and actually a step backwards looks wise for me. Now those matt titanium 19” rotors, damn you, they are seriously nice - dread to think how much a set of those would set me back! Tom, I owe you a pint for saving me some serious wedge. Jass, you owe me a pint for posting a picture of those gorgeous rotors - cursing you right now!

This was my original inspiration for considering bronze on Daytona....

Kerbed two alloys in two days. So that'll be three now. Guess I'll be getting a refurb done. Not the happiest man alive today.

Bad enough, two of the about an inch ish long on the lip. The other about 6 inch long on the lip. Only messaged a refurb company this morning I used for the RS, said I've got two that need doing 4 hours later, make that three. Wondering if it's worth getting all four done just in case the colour is slightly off on the three and one looks odd.

Feel your pain. I was recently quoted 240 quid to fully refurb two wheels. I'm actually thinking of just getting new ones.

Took 14 months but it finally happened, gutted after a great day meeting people at aitp.

What we saying fellas, tyre safe to drive on? I guess the pzeros have a lot of rubber where it has sliced in for the kerb protection?
