Why have they left the RS6 grill in the bumper and masked it? Surely better to remove it
Great looking car. That's a helluva shine. What are you using to bring it up that gleaming?
Glad it's back on road.SHE’S BACK!!!! Woooohoooo!!
Barsteward that's the one thing I wanted in my car lol
If you love the car then I suggest paying for the repairs and at least then you will know what's been done and there can't be much more to go wrong after that.
Seriously though it's not worth getting rid as the next one could have even more problems

Yup. And that’s my dilemma. I think it will be a case of ‘better the devil you know’
Hoping to order the suspension in the next few weeks; going for standard shocks and Eibach -30mm springs which sill only give me a 15mm drop but hopefully won’t ruin the ride quality
I've just done that exact fitment:
Sline shocks with Eibach springs... it improves the body roll SO well and still get that smooth ride, almost like it's untouched
Wow there seems to be allot of engine ‘issues’ whats your current mileage on the car?
Fingers crossed they don’t find any more problems when they pull the engine!
Like you I cant think of anything else other than a A6 I would get if I were to have to replace mine... just such a good package.

That's the type of feedback I like to hear! Fingers crossed I'll be reporting the same in a few weeks......
Current mileage is 107,100; it's been mapped for the last 35,000 (basically 48 hours after I bought it!) Doing some searching and these sorts of issues can develop with a standard car so at least I'm having some fun lol
The engine won't be coming out for a while unless the leak gets severe. Garage advised me to keep an eye on the oil level. Chatting to a couple of mates and showing them the pictures of the leak they reckon I should be 'ok' for a good few months, maybe longer.......
I'll probably start pricing the bits up and whilst its out replace gaskets, belts etc that can be done with the engine out. Better to spend a few extra quid whilst it's on the bench to ensure its all tip top going back in
In other news the DSG service went well and the gear changes are silky smooth. Garage replaced both the DSG oil and the transmission oil along with the filter. Hopefully that's ok for the next 38,000 miles!
What engine have you got?
as I’m curious about the DSG oil change as I had mine done recently and it was just the DSG Oil and the two filters.
3.0 single turbo TDI with the 7 Speed DSG box
There are two oils associated with the DSG gearbox. The way the garage explained it to me is you have the DSG oil which houses the mechatronics and the hydraulic clutches and then you have a separate oil which lubricates the gear train and differentials.
As far as I know I think it's the latter that is apparently sealed for life but I had it changed anyway for piece of mind He showed me the oil that came out of the gear train and it was definitely worth changing even though the oil for that was £90.......
All in I paid £332 for the service but that was for 7 litres of DSG oil, 5 litres of the 2nd oil, 1.5 hours of labour and the filter for the box. Oh and £8.95 for an oil seal!!!! :O
That’s interesting to know. I always thought the DSG oils had to be changed very 38k miles and that regular ZF auto boxes had oil sealed for life.
Did you notice any differences in the smoothness of the gear changes after?
