Off to Nurburgring in a couple of weeks in my A3 TDI (140bhp).

Had it mapped up to 180bhp, done EGR delete and I've currently got a Green Cotton Air Filter.

Need to buy the cleaning fluid and oil for the Air Filter (best/cheapest place to get this delivered quickly?) but I've just found "Green Filters Direct Induction Kit" for a little over £100.

Not sure if it's worth getting this fitted? I've read a lot of forums on here saying the OEM filter is the best, is this really true?

If so is it worth just binning the Green Cotton Filter and getting a new cheap OEM filter?

Wouldn't be opposed to a bit of extra noise that the direct induction kit may generate either :welcoming:

Thanks,

You will get a deeper growl on acceleration, but gains won't be much and heat soak will probably increase, especially with the current weather.
If you are unlucky, heat soak will kill any gains.

Stick with the OE filter and change it every year.

You can always tell a turbo diesel with an intake on as it sounds like an owl being abused :eyes:
