So my blackvue dr650s 2ch appears to have fried itself in this hot weather so I'm looking at replacements.
I have the ceilink b battery installed and have a preference to stay with blackvue if it makes the install easier using existing mounts/wiring etc.
I'm leaning towards the DR750s 2ch over the DR900s mainly due to the price difference but also I have read some mixed reviews on the 900.
I'm also considering the thinkware range, namely the F800 Pro 2ch but I don't think the software is as good as the blackvue.
Anyone have any experience with the ones I've mentioned?

Hello mate, I’ve gone the 650, 750 and now 900 route. Image quality is excellent as you’d expect but the biggest improvement I’ve seen so far the 900 has over the 750 is that the Wi-fi connection to the app is vastly superior. 750s best advantage over 650s is that it maintains settings when you update the firmware so if you did jump to the 900 then that’s an added bonus.

I guess it’s pretty convenient almost plug and play should you stay with BlackVue. Pretty sure the other make you mention needs a permanent live as well so you’d need to change your wiring to suit.

I have used dashcams for over 10 years - cheap ones, most winycam/blackvue/thinkware range - Thinkware are streets ahead. F800 is superb. Fast software, wifi, nightvision, features. Blackvues caused no end of dab issues, gave up with them. F800 with the ivolt is the perfect combo

It was a toss up between the F800 Pro and the blackvue DR750s
However due to the car being pre wired with blackvue and the fact Halfords have a 20% off sale I ended up with the DR900s!
Picture quality is on another level but the unit is freezing up quite often.
There was a new firmware update yesterday so I'm hoping this cures it, if not it's going back!

Picture freeze can be caused by the memory card your using.....

The whole unit freezes and becomes non responsive unless I remove the power and plug it in again (it's hardwired to a ceilink b)
I take your point though as it's not the supplied sd card, however it is a high endurance one so hopefully it's fine

The actual operating software is also on the card, not just the stored pictures.

What card are you using? The Blackviews are quite fussy over the card/manufacturer.

Bringing up this thread as I am currently in the market for a wired dash cam. Any updated experiences with the following units:
Also, anyone here installed a camera up near the Driver Assist camera on Prestige models? Any issues with the units fitting up there out of view with the large trim?

I got the DR900s, it's a great unit with unparalleled picture quality at the moment.
The first unit did go back though as it was freezing and being unresponsive but the replacement has been fine.
I have the assist camera and the blackvue sits along side it on the passenger side, it's not out of view but it doesn't distract in any way.
If I hadn't of gone blackvue then I'd probably have got the thinkware F800 Pro

Not tried the dr900, always had bad experience with black use with dreadful interference with dab, even with improved shielding and ferrite cores. My local installer, John leis, refuses to install blackvues. Maybe the dr900 will be better but blackvue support and sorting dab issues has been non existent. 4 years and they still haven’t sorted it.

I have thinkwares in 3 of my cars. 770, 800pro are in the audis and both have the superb thinkware battery. 800 Pro is superb.
