SD Card Data Corrupted issue

Hi all,

First time posting and hopefully it's an easy solution.

My wife has an Audi TT S Line Black Edition MK2 with the audi navigation plus unit.

I've purchased a 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC card in the hope of putting music on it and using in the unit.

However I'm getting data corrupted when inserting card. I've tried to reformat various times to fat32 but still having no joy.

The card works fine in the laptop and will play the music direct from card when plugged in.

Hopefully someone can advise how I can get this working. I have a feeling the card is too big although I'm sure I read various posts on other forums about 64gb cards being fine.

Try formatting it as ExFAT. That is usually more compatible.
 
Have you tried a lower GB card , i use a 32gb and works fine with mp3 files so it could be card to large
 
It *should* be ok with the size of card. I'm using a 128GB USB drive with no problems

Oh sorry, you're right @ch1z64 , RNSe is old and will only take up to 32GB SDHC - in fact the first gen only took 2GB cards max IIRC
 
I had this issue. Had to use a windows machine rather than a Mac.
 
I'm a bit late to the party, but I can confirm what ch1z64 and allanmb have said. I had a look in my RNS-E nav system operating manual (smaller booklet, separate to the TT owner's manual) and there is a table showing the maximum capacity of the cards supported is 32 Gb and it also states that it wants FAT or FAT32 format.

I had a different issue when I first went to listen to audio files on a memory card in that my files were not MP3s. They were a different audio format (I believe it was WAV) and the system couldn't read them and told me that I had a very nice blank card. Once I converted the files to MP3, there were no issues using the card with the system.
 
Remember lads even thou it is a lot off memory ( was in its day ) that the system will only show X amount off Folders and Files so be careful you dont overload with Mp3 as it will only read so many and you will think where has all my other media ( mp3's ) went .:thumbs up:

That handy little table in the operating manual also shows you you will be limited to:
- Maximum 15,000 files per medium.
- Maximum 5,o00 directories.
- Maximum 2,000 files per directory.
 
Not sure why I had to say"you" twice, but never mind. You're also limited to a maximum of 32 playlists.
