Hi Guys,

New here.

I have a Audi S3 2015, the warranty has just finished in June and I'm facing an issue, Sods law! S3 has done 35k.

The issue is when I turn the steering wheel clockwise/anti clockwise and when the vehicle starts moving, I can hear a knocking noise when the wheel rotates as if something is rubbing.

I did a search on google and it seems to be the CV Joint or outer CV Boots.

Anyone had the same issue or can offer any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Faz

the CV makes more of a clicking sound. I would say 35k is low for a CV to go unless the rubber boot has burst and all the grease has escaped.

I would be jumping on the Audi Extended warranty website and taking out an extra years cover which will be between £250-350ish.

There is a limited amount of time when you can take out the policy once the 3 year warranty has expired (think it’s around a month).

Go on the website and punch in your details. It’ll let you know if you’re still within the time window.

Of course there is a moral dilemma here - Taking out a policy knowing that there is an issue which you intend to claim on, but who am I to judge...I would do it
