I can’t remember who it is but I was speaking to someone on here a long time ago that can program gauge clusters. I want to swap mine to a color display and have the display but can’t remember who it was I spoke to. Please PM me if you see this. Thanks!

Spent the last few days working on my grill. Did some cutting. Some hacking. Some priming. Some painting. Went to the store and asked them for the ugliest black they had and so they gave me the can below so I could use it on my grill. Just got a few finishing touches I need to do to it but it’s coming along. In the meantime the weather is nice so I’ve been riding my bike.

Looking good! How did you fix the mesh in place? When I made mine, I used hot melt glue but, in hindsight, I'm not sure its strong enough. :chargrined:
Nice intercooler by the way. Pics of car when its finished?

Thanks! I used super glue. Hopefully it holds. I’m a little skeptical but I always am after a project like that. Time will tell.

Finished it up today. I’m not happy with the up close view of it. It looks great from any other distance but up close I’m not happy with.

Been a busy couple of weekends for me and my A4 B7 Avant 2.0TDI 170, I have been plagued with a flashing glow plug light, engine management light, leaking exhaust manifold and blocked DPF. Car was due a cambelt as well so I bit the bullet and over 4 days I changed the following

Cambelt and Waterpump
Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Turbo Gaskets
Turbo Clean
DPF Flush
Fuel Filter
Oil Filter
Oil Change
New Air Flow Sensor
Coolant Change

Annoyingly I lost a bolt for the exhaust hanger bracket so I have had to order a new one and after I cleared all the codes the flashing glow plug light came back after the car got up to temperature.
Not actually managed to drive it yet but strangely my indicator on the passenger side has stopped working and the bulb is not the problem.
Looking like I need to take the bumper off again to see if I have pinched a wire or something.
About had enough of this car, once its back on the road I will run VCDS on it again and see what problems its come up with now.
Hands down the most unreliable car I have ever owned.

Decided it was time to address my long standing alloy addiction..lol , i do like the 9 spoke alloys but just feel something else was needed to freshen up the old bus a bit.
So after a lot of searching and sizing I lashed out on these 19" shinny item , and they will fit over my Brembo's ….

Finally Rob ha! They are lovely, when will they be fitted mate?

Going to get tyres swapped over on Friday hopefully , with shinny new alloys going on now I will have to give the old bus a good spruce up so it looks worthy of the new metal..lol

Well I was a bit harsh in the old bus. Drove the car for first time after all the work and I had no boost and limp mode. I was fuming so after a sense check in the engine bay every thing was plugged in no leaky vacuum hoses but VCDS telling me 'boost pressure regulation control range not reached' I was thinking the worst that I had damaged the turbo whilst it was off the car. I then pulled the vaccum hose off the turbo and egr cooler and it suddenly dawned on me that they were extremely similar so I swapped them around and cleared the codes.
Took it for a test drive and it goes like a rocket, no flashing glow plug light, no blocked DPF no limp mode just a huge wave of power. It's never driven so well.
Thank **** for that!

looks good, now come and do my old bus as its looking very sad today...

Haha! I love clean cars, but hate cleaning them!

On another note... Had a chance to check the inlet temps over the last few days, and I'm quite pleased with my cold air box and front mount. Ambient temperature was touching 30c and inlet temperature around 40c.

I wrapped my black optics grill conversion by installing a brand new black plate holder. Ordered new license plates as well.

new alloys arrived and well pleased with them.
test fitted one on the fronts ( the problematic Brembo's) and it fitted ok, a very snug fit though.
So just need to test fit the rest and get the tyres swapped and the jobs done, very impressed with the quality of the rims and how light they are for a 19" rim....
they certainly freshen up the old bus.

Now they look very nice. The more i see of 19" rims the more im tempted

They are ET35 on an 8.5j , in hindsight I would have gone with an ET33 but they don't do that offset, anyway they clear the Brembo's with a small gap which is enough, happy days .

Fitted an O2 spacer to my hfc to get rid of the P0420 code and EML. Please to say this has cleared the code and eml.

Also ordered a new MAP sensor. Car boosts fine on very light throttle. Anything more and it drops into limp mode. Classic sign of a failing MAP sensor

Got tickets for the Grand Prix qualifying for my birthday, then last night after filling up with petrol for today, the radiator decided to blow up! Luckily managed to get one and replace it last night, happy days!

Now today I've just managed to rip a heat shield off the bottom of the car in a field at Silverstone which has rubbed on the prop the hour home!

****** cars! You can fall out of love with em! :glee:

Well I messed up: dropped the kayak on the mirror when loading it.
I guess I've given myself a reason to buy S4 mirrors now.

Put my Forge Diverter valve on with the correct spring. Holds boost very well. Also, was finally able to install my new valve cover. I have a few things to figure out. I want to cover up my timing belt but the cover is just flimsy and loose if I leave it on so I’ll find a solution soon. And I need a proper way to seal the extra bung on my intake that’s not being used now.
