Washed it after collection from the dealership yesterday after what can only be described as the single most horrendous pre handover prep was done by them
Just used the plasti dip, been playing around this morning with chrome rings but actually went back to all black think I prefer that look which has surprised me. Going to drive around like this to see if i dont Like it and will get it sorted the plasti dip only lasts about 9 months before it looks really shabby.

Yeah I struggled with the window surrounds when I first tried it. I may give them another go when I get some time.
What you’ll need for the windows is a type of masking tape with a plastic edge to it. You slide the plastic in under the rubber and pull the rubber away from the metal and stick it down with the tape side. It means the paint/dip goes under the rubber and is much neater. I used it on the RS4 and it made it much easier.
ok thats cool didnt know a thing exsisted. i'll have a quick look, ive still got a whole spray can left over so i'll give it a go. do you know what the tape is called>

Ace drive through the twisty b-roads of Wales to the Brecon Beacons this weekend. Big old hike yesterday, taking in a few peaks. Met up with an old mate and his floret silver 8v S3 Sportback. Good company, big scenery, great campsite at Talybont farm (with a great pub a few hundred feet away). Sore legs.

This is the stuff. A mate liberated some for me from his work. Its expensive but it will give you a much better end result.

Good choice! It was absolutely baking! We took 3 litres of water each with us and used every last drop. The first cold pint when we got back was ruddy marvellous
12 mate - doesn’t sound like much, but some pretty steep sections and 2,500 feet climbed during the day. Enough for me in 28 degrees! The view atop Pen Y Fan was worth the effort
Could be a blessing in disguise.
You are always better doing all the exterior work yourself, or better yet get a detailer to do it.As long as the interior was spotless.....that would be unforgiveable.
Quick snowfoam and wash yesterday, having spent more time on the wife’s Tucson earlier. Was too hot for pictures as the beer in the fridge was calling.

Best I've done so far is 12.5, and just over 3k feet, but that was going up and down over 5 of the Coniston wainwrights. And it was April, so more bearable temps.
Never visited anywhere in Wales before....Yorkshire three peaks and Ben Nevis are my current goals!!
All the way up the east coast to John o'g, and down the West including Skye.
Finally some serious miles for the car

Fitted my dash cam.
I've got a Nextbase 412GW and this is the 3rd car I've had it in. Admittedly it is not the most discreet of dash cams but it works well and I like it.
I considered hard wiring it this time, but when permanently plugged into the 12v outlet with the wire pulled tight and immediately disappearing behind the centre console, it looks very neat so I will leave it like this.
Only thing I found slightly more awkward than previous installations was tucking the wire into the headlining along the top of the windscreen, but wasn't a big deal and makes for a more secure fit.....plus when the suction mount periodically falls off the windscreen the cam definitely aint going anywhere.
I felt naked without my dash cam.

Fit the Blackvue 900S today.. was not fun at all. Accidentally knocked the rear view mirror off completely and took about 30-45 minutes to fix it back on correctly.Fitted my dash cam.

Honestly haven't really had the chance to have a good look. I'm a provisional driver so I'm not driving around much at the moment. I don't record in 4K but rather 1080 @ 60fps, I prefer that over to 30fps.

Yeah, was a real pain to get it reassembled fully. Attaching the unit back to the glass panel was simple, but lining the housing of the mirror unit back on was such a pain to do. I have no idea why, but it wouldn't go back on straight for the life of me. After about 30-45 minutes of messing around trying to sort it out it just slipped on when I moved. Over the last week, finally got to fit H&R Trak+ spacers (10mm front, 20mm rear), as well as pipercross pp-1926 filter.
Also got a torque-wrench, in order to finally tighten the wheels at correct torque and stop steering wheel rumble. The tyre-shop had made a crappy job.
I think it stands nicely:

7 x weeks of ownership so thought I’d have a go at cleaning the exhaust tips, came out like new which was a surprise. Good old T-cut chrome polish.

Well, finally did the road trip I've been wanting to do since ordering the car, a total of 1,388 miles was covered 
car was perfect for the trip, from J36 M6 to Thurso I got 38mpg, Thurso onwards through the winding highlands I was around 30mpg.
Set off monday after work for Queensferry.
Tuesday I went from there to Thurso, stopping off at John O'g.
Wednesday was Thurso to Lochniver.
Thursday from Lochniver to Kyleakin, Skye.
Friday got down to @jassyo06 for mid afternoon, for a de-con, polish and the Gyeon Syncro kit, 2 coats of MOHS, 1 coat of SKIN.
Sunday morn, back yam.
Big thanks to @Audi Bairn for assisting me in planning a route, and his great list of places to visit...even though I never went to any, just constant driving all day.
And a big thanks to @jassyo06 for the graft on my car, and the hospitality!
