Hi guys, I just installed 8mm hubcentric spacers on the back and onthe front too. I have removed the rear dust caps (as my car is FWD) and place the spacers....so they flush OK. The car started to vibrate at 80mph/130kphI got ball seat lugs since I used it on my stock wheels. i also got extended lugs. (Everything came as a kit EIBACH PRO SPACER.

I have removed the front ones and the car kept vibration the same way....and decided to remove the rear ones too (now I have near zero vibration). Maybe I just torqued it in a bad way as I used the manual jack that comes into my trunk.

Any clue on that??I never thought I was going to have such a problem as I was using ball extended lugs, hub-centric and wheel-centric spacers.

Many thanks.

What are the rear dust caps that you refer to ?

Are you using locking wheel bits the same length as the bolts - could this be causing an imbalance ? Or, have you converted to studs ?

Sorry, I wanted to say bolts. Not using lugs at all...

FWD Cars have dust caps to protect the bearing. Awd ones like the S3 or the Quattro A3 do not have dust caps as they have the axle...I guess the bearing is different too.

I had to remove the cap so the spacer fit into properly... Everything seemed fine but there is something I am missing.

Cheers!

Do your spacers have the hub extension lip? I had similar issue when I used hubcentric spacers without the hub extension. Fitting spacers with the lip solved the problem. Also, check the wheel balance and look at the tyre when it rotates on the balancing machine. Is there any wobbling?

Yeah, the spacers are both Hub Centric and Wheel Centric with Lip extension. I may have lost one the balance ballast pieces on one of the rear wheels. Next week I will try to send to the shop and try to correct the wheel balance.

I have exactly the same spacers as at your link, same part number except I chose them in black. But I use them on the front axle only as they don't fit the rear one. Instead, I bought 8 mm ST DZ wheel spacers for the rear axle. They have a hub extension ring for the wheel support and the spacer itself has a plastic collar which tighten it on the hub.

Did you have to remove the dust cap for the wheel bearing? Or do they fit perfectly? I have seen som images on the ST website and it looks like you first have to remove the dustcap and then place the spacer. Once the spacer is placed you can put the dust cap against the spacer. I am right?

Anyway... I should have had zero problems as the H&R spacer I purchased ared double centered, removed dust cap to provide 100% spacer-brakedisc contact, extended ball seat bolts...

Probably I am mad for this and it is allrelated to a bad wheel balance.

Thanks!

You don't have to remove the dust cap in order to fit the spacer. It has to be removed in order to fit the hub extension ring only, then fit the cap on the ring as shown on the picture. You can fit the spacer with or without the hub extension ring.

Understood, I wll try to solvethe problem first and keep my spacers, but ifnot I will probably give the ST's a try. Thanks!
