Radio reception problem

Hello guys.

I have S3 8l AMK with BOSE.

The car was with RNS-D which i sold and bought double din pioneer. The problem is that the radio reception is terrible. In using only FM, but i can't get more than 2 radio stations. I'm using the aerial adapter but there is no difference.

Can someone explain me how does the 3 amplifiers and J515 radio selector work.

I disassemble the J515 module, open it, but there is nothing wrong with it. How can i test it if it's working or not? Also how can i test the amplifiers?

Maybe message tcg, he sorted his radio out by buying a proper Audi aerial,
 
My problem is with FM only, because in my country only FM is working.

Is it true that on cars with BOSE and GPS aerial the aerial on the roof with circuit board inside is only for telephone?

And the one on the hatch is for FM?
 
Getting FM only , sounds [no pun intended] like , the power feed to the Ae amplifier is missing , its usually fed from the radio, or in the new versions , direct to the Ae base . I fitted a new replacement Ae , after the old one stopped working on MW , the new amp , had a separate Dc connection, but also worked from the radio feed ..better , but still get a buzzing on MW , unless the signal is strong , probably a fault in the radio , fine on FM
 
Well i connected the 12v wire from aerial adaptet, but still bo FM reception.
If my aerial on the roof is shot is it going to be a problem with FM reception?
 
will work, but only in the service areas, once your out in the stick's may find stations drop out , simple test , just connect a wire , direct to the radio , see what happens , if it works ok, then , something is a amiss in the system , back from there , Am usually takes a hit first .. the roof ae has the amp as part of it , I fitted so-called replacement part , only to find , the amp did not work on mw , had to get a real one in the end , mines just single whip , mounted at the rear of the roof
.... If I was buying one again , I would be looking for one with all the sat nave bits in as well as the phone , but , that's a very unlikely scenario ..

When i connect a wire to the head unit the reception is perfect.

So i should buy new OEM aerial with amplifier or a normal aerial with coax from the roof to the HU?
 
good question , if the radio is the standard one, it will expect the ae amp , I got my ae from one of the audi parts guys on the site , works fine , but I think I have a fault in the radio as it burbles on low signal level am stations , fine on local ones ,
