I have a 2018 Q5 with 20 inch wheel option, and B&O sound system.
Car came with only the tyre repair kit, and the spare well in the boot is filled with the sub-woofer from the B&O.
Never owned a car without at least a space-saver spare, so feeling anxious about trips off the beaten path. The sub looks easily removable, but is there such a thing as a space saver wheel and tyre for the 20 inch opion?

I’ve got a collapsible spare with the b&o sub inside of it, with 21” wheels, sq5, 2013, if that’s any help?

SQ5

I have similar issue - 20"s on my 2018 SQ5 with B&O and no spare, just a can of gunk and air pump.

Firstly i dont think that tyres can be patched if you use the gunk?

Secondly, I'm off around Europe in the summer and want a spare - I dont want to be caught in the middle of nowhere with, potentially, a tyre that cant be re inflated etc.

Actively watching Ebay for a spare 20" - but if you do find a space saver that fits the new Q5, id be interested.

O.K. the collapsible spare from Audi costs over Five Hundred Pounds! if not included with the initial new car order. Outrageous, in my opinion. As a result, even E-bay items are very expensive.
After thinking about it I have instead gone for a complete set of new Audi 20 inch wheels and winter tyres. These are far more readily available, pricing is competeive, hence far better value. I got mine for a thousand the set of new wheels and tyres.
My plan is to obviously use the winter wheels in winter, saving the diamond cuts from the salt, and to carry a full size spare in the boot, on the rare occasions I am driving somewhere inaccessible.

I bought a 20' spare off ebay for £90 although Im on 21' s it'll do the job.

Noticed that the new R line Tiguan that we have at home not only comes with 20" wheels with the same tyres as the SQ5, but also that it has a 20" space saver.

Will check all the offset details, but suspect a VW one is cheaper than an audi one.

Still looking into this.
It seems that the collapsible spare wheel for the MY2018 Q5 may be different from the pre 2017 Q5?

Anyone with a 2018 Q5 with the spare willing to show us a photo or part number, please?

Bump.

I am still trying to get hold of a spare - either space saver or full size y-spoke 20" - prior to a European road trip in week or so.

There must be a group buy opportunity here as few people are getting spares with the B&O etc.

mine is an 18 SQ5 - all the spares on eBay are for the b8 version.

Just been quoted from local dealer £439 inc VAT for the spare wheel - apparently they can discount heavily...

Going to get this for peace of mind.

Let us know how you get on removing the boot liner to get it in. Looks like quite a mission on thr MY18. Q5.

Here's an option to consider. I have an RSQ3 with 20" wheels, no spare (even if I wanted one you can't get one) and the car as new comes with that loathsome gunk to put in the wheel that is a bit hit and miss to use.

What I have replaced this with in my RSQ3 is a tyre plugger repair kit:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcyc...Repair+Kit&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313

Don't worry that it says motorcycle, these kits are sold to repair punctures in cars, bikes, trucks etc and work very well (I can speak from experience of having a puncture in my RSQ3 and using one of these kits). Very easy to use indeed, the only addition I made was a pair of long nosed pliers to help get the object causing the puncture out of the tyre in the first place. I had the plug in for over 800 miles, and it didn't lose any air (the reason I had it in for that long was being away in Europe when I got the puncture and not being able to get a replacement tyre until I got home)

As new, my RSQ3, came with a small air compressor - no doubt if you too have the gunk you already have one - but if not then these little compressors from the RAC for the money work very well
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAC-12V-...+tyre+pump&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313

As with any puncture repair kit, it won't work on punctures in or near the wall of the tyre - neither does the gunk stuff - but for punctures in the main body / tread area of the tyre, it works very well and I feel a lot more confident that should I get a puncture, I have a pretty good chance of repairing it quickly by the roadside to get me going again, even if its only to the nearest tyre depot, its better than sitting by the side of the road waiting to be recovered.

Just a thought that's all.
