Revo Map

I have loaded 98 ron low boost files. Control unit corrections even with better gasoline on the Italian market Q8 100 about 3% on the second and third cylinder. I have seen that the turbo pressure on the 98 low boost reaches 1.5 bar versus 1.7 bar file 98. I do not like very much engine delivery with a low-power 98 map. Empty up to 3000 rpm and then explode over and with an annoying open and close with partial gas openings.
The 95 ron map that turbo pressure reaches? Does it have a linear + supply compared to 98 loow boost? Why was the low boost version implemented?

Lb 98 is for track to keep temps low and use high rpms on track like u do. Its not file to drag, thats why u have 98 normal.

95 ron dont need, never tried i thank God never will . Sports car are not ment to be for 95. Even stock Rs3 was pulling timing -4-5 on 95 . So 98 min for these cars

I hear that alot :icon thumright:
Its non consistent octane fuel. So example Q100 sometimes is 100, 98, 99 varies(thats what Italian Revo dealers told me )

Interested to see the dragy times mate :icon thumright::icon thumright:
Add me on Dragy , H4RDY

Warranty... or map... that’s what I keep asking myself ever since this thread started

I wonder if companies like Warranty Direct will come into play here? or if they are purely extended warranties. I might email them, unless anyone already knows the answer?

good thing there aren't any sports car manufacturers in that county then, running on said cr*p fuel :whistle2:

You "could" always get some form of warranty, but will cost

I sent them an email asking if they would cover a remapped vehicle and here was the response -

Hi Callum

Thank you for your inquiry.

We would be able to cover the vehicle but we we not be able to cover the re map its self or any damage caused by it. if it were to be the cause of another part of the vehicle having a fault or damaging another part as a knock on effect for example.

Typical warranty company response. They'd wriggle out of a grave if they had cause to do so.

Had my TTRS at Revo yesterday for stage 1. A good drive this morning meant I could get a proper feel for it. Very impressed.

I don't have any dyno numbers (this will come later) but it feels substantially quicker than stock. It pulls much harder as you'd expect and has a lovely, strong and progressive power delivery. Does it feel as aggressive as my PFL RS3 MRC stage 1...no. That felt extremely aggressive, possibly due to the smaller turbo spooling quicker and the fact it was louder (I had secondary decat). But it's still a big step up in performance and I can certainly believe the 470-480ps numbers that are being seen elsewhere. If people are wondering what it feels like, then accelerate hard in second gear. That is what third gear feels like in a mapped car!

0-100mph being quoted at 7.1s means it'll take some serious cars to embarrass the little TT now. I'll keep you posted on any dyno numbers when I sort it out.

In summary, for those wanting that extra 20% performance, Revo seems a good choice.

I have found a company that offer the ABT map (Assume most of you know, but they run the audisport racing teams) and they offer a warranty on ALL parts should a manufacturer claim be rejected! it is more pricey i suspect, but am just waiting on the information in full :)
Could be one for everyone like me who wants a map but cannot foot a £15k bill should something go pop.

Nice one... can’t wait to see your findings

A remapped RS3/TTRS is quite a thing. Too tempting to miss out on!

Where are the company based, is it the only location in UK?

Isn't the ABT offering including an intercooler and exhaust change of some kind - from what I have read.

Sure this was the piggy back type setup on the Golf R I saw

The FL RS3 ABT cat back exhaust alone is over £4K and the full package in the region of £16k. For this sort of money they should be offering a warranty. Nice quality if you can afford it.

If the ABT figures Top Gear are quoting are anything to go by I wouldn’t fork out all that money for it to be slower than stock :glee:

its normal file which will give u 470-480hp

Lb file is for track, less torque and maybe 450hp+-
With intercooler u should feel difference

You can switch between modes with the SPS unit.

Right ABT map details, they are called Richter Sports and are the only ABT distributor in the UK, We could potentially get a group buy going, because the price is steep!!

First off, it is a new ECU and wiring for the map which achieves 460ps and 530nm of torque!!

The cost of the tuning including a 2 year NSA warranty is £2925+vat, or £3175+vat for the 3 year version.

The warranty covers around 6K Euros, It's the most common package, because if eg the gearbox fails, it would be a component, (Mechatronic unit, or a differential) etc, so a Rebuild, not a "whole new gearbox"

They do have flexibility on the Warranty package, we can opt for more cover at an additional premium, EG RS6 etc get a 10K Euro, and you could put that insurance on the RS3.

Food for thought, The warranty insurance seems a little high in my opinion and maybe I will have to keep stock if the price remains this high. Or, potentially could look to taking a policy against a revo map, if that is even possible.

Thoughts?

Outrageously expensive IMO, and the gains are not massively impressive, especially that torque figure.

You may as well just save the £2000 and keep that aside to fix the car if it breaks! Or use it to buy a new Ecu then put it into Audi under warranty ;)

I've been looking into the alternative ECU route but it seems like such a ball ache and I can't find anyone local that would be willing to carry out the work :(

Priced up insurance though and to go from 400 > 490 PS would only be an extra £400 with Admiral. Seems pretty reasonable for me at 21 years old?

Yup, surprised me too. They asked me a ton of questions about why I wanted it done and who the work would be carried out by and then referred me to an underwriter. I just said it was for economy as I'm doing lots of motorway miles for work!

Admiral quote

I'm with Admiral and just added my mods via their website, piece of cake! Took me 5 minutes and for a Stage 1 remap, new wheels and lowering springs came to under £150 extra including admin fee, very happy with that.

The only “catch” with Admiral is they don’t cover mod-for-mod, they will only replace them with standard parts

Admiral are not bad. Map, exhaust, suspension, wheel on my Golf 7R only put it up £60-70 a year.

What’s involved in plugging in a new ECU?

I did this on my a45 where the ECU is easily accessible and takes less than a minute to swap out.

It’s not a minute job by any means, probably 30 mins to change to actual ECU, but your old Ecu will need reading then transferring data to the new one to code it.

Needs Odis to do any ECU swap..........As @deanshaw24 says above it requires a certain amount of time and cost to configure the replacement ECU to the car.
